ADOPTED! This tiny little girl met her new parents over the weekend & it was love at first site for everyone. She gave them both kisses -- they gave her lots of kisses & there was no doubt that she was just waiting here at LnF Dog Rescue for them to find her. She'll be starting her new life as their beloved baby girl on Friday 1/28/2017 -- she is my #484th adoption
** Be sure to watch Sauve' video's below** If you’ve been looking for a very young, pretty, small, sweet, blonde Chihuahua that you must dress up at all times, Sauve’ might be the one for you. She’s only 9 lbs. & the minute you take her outside she starts to shiver, she is very cold sensitive --- so if you love dressing up a little dog I think she’ll be perfect. Sauve’ would love to be adopted into a family that has time to spend with her & no small children, she’s too small. As it is with her breed, she is very bossy with other dogs no matter what their size! She seems very opinionated & needs to give them a piece of her mind. I think she's saying "Look I'm really tiny, only 9lbs so just be careful that you don't step on me!!" After that she loves to play with everyone
Sauve’ was named by a friend & her name means “rescued” in French and she really was. She found herself in a high kill shelter in KY owner surrendered. They simply didn’t want her anymore. Can’t explain why people do the things they do when it comes to giving up animals as if they are an old pair of shoes. She was afraid of everything – you can see the photo below when she was in the Vet’s office in KY. Her ears are pinned due to fear. After only a week in a foster home you can see her ears have perked up. She is perfectly normal little dog now that she isn’t afraid anymore.
We have a policy of not adopting young dogs like her to anyone 62 & up. Small dogs like Sauve’ have a lifespan without any medical issues down the road of 12-15 years. We sincerely believe that Senior Citizens should adopt more mature dogs say 3 years & up.
All LnF pups/dogs have been temperament tested & live in foster homes ~ All pups and dogs have been housebroken (puppies are paper trained) & crated trained ~ All pups/dogs have been Microchipped ~ Tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia & Lyme ~ Each dog is on Heartworm Medication year-round while in our care ~ Up to date with three-year Rabies ~ Distemper, Parvo & Leptospirosis vaccines ~ Wormed.
Our adoption fee includes (30) days of FREE pet insurance from Petfinder with an option to purchase but it's your choice. We strive to provide the BEST medical care available so that YOU are assured all our pups/dogs are healthy, up-to-date with all necessary shots, spayed or neutered by our rescue.
Be sure to read our adoption requirements and if you can meet or exceed them you can apply online at our website. An installed minimum 4 foot high fenced in yard is mandatory – we don’t accept any type of electric fence – no exceptions.
