This is our extremely handsome young boy Jon. The term Velcro dog was coined for dogs like him. He is so loving and affectionate that all he wants is to be close to you. He follows me around and if I stop for a second, he just LEANS into me. He is very easy going and will be the best companion in the world for someone who needs a darling buddy to hang out with.

This dear boy was dumped at my home. I woke up Sunday morning & there he was squeezed up against my fence so terrified he was quaking & it took hours for him to stop shaking & quaking.

Took me some time to figure out what his primary breed is & I'm still not sure -- but I see the markings of a Great Dane & big Rottie head! He plays with everyone here and for as big as he is - he is submissive.

He has some food issues with some people - not me, but a few others -  so I would not consider adopting him to someone unless they are extremely experienced with dogs. He eats twice a day and his food bowl needs to be taken up after or he will guard the bowl. It will be empty anyway - It seems he must have been starved in his early years so food is very important to him. He never seems to get enough food.

I think he was forced to live in a crate since he used to HATE being in one. He cried and barked, a pitiful bark, he just wanted to be free. Now I allow him to roam free and just feed him in his crate and now he goes in himself for nap. Now that he is not afraid he'll be stuck in there and not allowed out -- he goes in to nap. He is very mild mannered and easy going. He didn't know what toys were but he does now. He LOVES to play tug-of-war with humans or dogs. He is a very very nice dog & I'm glad he found his way to our rescue. I promised him, as I do all of them, to find them the perfect family for them. Jon is a great dog and I'm looking forward to see who he chooses as his new parent.
