Be sure to watch Ryker's video(s) below. He LOVES the winter, the colder the better, snow? Did you say Snow? He just did not want to come back in the house when it's cold & snowy! He equals LOVES water. We just got him a pool & now he is happy.

Ryker can best be described as: I'm a fun-loving, happy all the time, glass is half full kind of dog. I wants to be adopted by someone who loves to laugh & play with me, take me for walks, someone who has a great sense of humor & someone who has the time to be with him. I'm extremely affectionate & my foster Mom & Dad say I have a very gentle soul.--

Be sure to click thru all his photo's below. There is one of him towering above all the dogs here & most of our dogs are large to medium. As you can see he is politely waiting for his to get his evening pudding from his foster Dad Uncle Jerry. He give them people puddin' every day & feeds them with a spoon. I think this shows what good dogs they are since they can all wait their turn!

Ryker is young purebred Great Pyrenees. He is soft, gentle, friendly, affectionate, happy, funny & just loves people & LOVES female dogs. He does want to be the boss of male dogs so we'll only adopt him to a family with female dogs.

Ryker loves people and is extremely kind to the female dogs.  If you have a large female or even a medium female (he is so sweet & gentle with little ones!) who needs a buddy to really rough house with - Ryker will provide hours of fun for your pet. We think he would be happy boy if will adopt him to anyone who has another dog for him to play with.

He has hit 130 lbs & we consider him full grown now.  What you need to know about him in order to adopt him is: These requirements must be met or exceeded. The long term welfare of our dogs are our number 1 priority.

He is crate trained & will go in & nap when the door is open but he is very very social & wants to be where we are. During the day when I'm home (which is often) he has full range house privileges. He is perfectly housebroken & can settle very well. As always all dogs young dogs need plenty of play time & a daily walk.

He LOVES to go for walks & like Ferdinand the Bull, he just wants

to smell the greens & flowers when they were there. He pee-pee's like a girl so you don't have that pesky having to mark on every bush he passes.

Like all dogs he needs basic training.  Great Pyr's are stubborn by nature. He can sit for a cookie & if there were more time in my day to train him & know he would learn everything that he needs to know to be a good dog citizen. ** He requires someone who is young enough and strong enough to walk him, as he is very powerful. Great Pyr's also need an owner that has dog training experience & has raised a large breed dog like him with a long coat. He does require regular grooming.

As large as he is he only needs a 4 foot fence but 6 would be ideal.

As with all LNF pups & dogs he up-to-date with all shots, neutered, house-trained, microchipped & crate trained.

This summer, I put out our two kiddie pools & at first he didn't know what to do since he hadn't seen one before - but as he watched our other "water hounds" here like Clyde, Ribbons, & Mocha (the rest could care less) jump around or just stand in the water as Clyde does -- he gingerly got in. Then ........ he was in there for the rest of the day until I emptied it.

He would be happiest with his own pool - doesn't have to be built-in but he enjoy the largest kiddie pool that you can find. I believe he will always have a child-like joy of playing in water.

Temperament:
In nature, the Great Pyrenees is confident, gentle (especially with children), and affectionate. While territorial and protective of its flock or family when necessary, its general demeanor is one of composure and patience. It is a strong willed, independent and reserved breed. It is also attentive, quite fearless and loyal to its duties. The Great Pyrenees' size makes it an imposing guardian. A dog of this breed will patrol its perimeter and may wander away if off lead in an unenclosed space. The Great Pyrenees also tends to growl and bark a lot unless trained against such behavior.

The Great Pyrenees can be slow to learn new commands, slow to obey, and somewhat stubborn to train. Despite this relative stubbornness, it is quite unusual for the Great Pyrenees to become aggressive or turn on its master. They also need a lot of space in which to roam.
