ADOPTED! Due to having many medical issues we're going to keep Dexter within our family  ---

** Be sure to watch Dexter's videos below to see how well he get's along with his foster siblings**

As you can see my Dexter is really confused & can't understand why he hasn't been adopted after all these years with LnF Dog Rescue. He's my BEST boy & yes he is a bit chubby (but he could lose some weight if someone walked him daily) and yes he a mature senior, & yes he does need daily medication for his thyroid condition but his medication is inexpensive, and NO KITTES - BUT other than that he's a perfect loving funny companion!! Please come to see Dex on Saturday at our "Home 4 The Holidays" Adoption Event!

Dex is: Constant Companion -  Looking for an emotionally secure, mutually satisfying, low maintenance relationship? I am all you need. Let me sit at your feet, walk by your side, and I’ll be your devoted companion forever.

**Be sure to watch his video below**  Dexter is extra-large at 105 lb. (but he could certainly use losing about 5 lbs or so)  purebred Plott Hound. He is all black except for his face which is a unique marble markings and his socks are the same color which is representative the Plott Hound. A very striking gentleman indeed! He is very sweet and has a very soft & gentle heart. He's definitely a bright presence in our lives. He loves all the dogs and everyone he meets. He is even more  more handsome in person. Dex has lots of love to give and is looking for that special family who would give him all the love he deserves for the rest of his life.  He is just a sweet, goofy boy who loves people, other dogsBUT NO KITTIES or small animals in the home.

He does have thyroid condition and will require medication for the rest of his life but to help him get home LnF Dog Rescue will pay all of his expenses for the rest of his life for his thyroid.

Did you say “toys?” Oh I’ve never seen a dog who LOVES toys the way he does! He is a "toy-a-holic" and toys are his life! His favorite place is on my sofa or doggie bed. He has figured out how to get a pillow under his head and just snoozes away. Through no fault of his own, he's been overlooked for several years.

It seems that just overnight his eyebrows turned gray & a volunteer mentioned that now he looks like Andy Rooney. I laughed & had to agree! Dexter would be fine if adopted by first time pet parent or someone who hasn’t had a dog in a long time. He’s very easy-going, calm BUT he does love to chase squirrels and cats so he would need a firm hand on the leash when walking. He LOVES to walk & due to the fact that he has a thyroid condition he has gained too much weight & would do well with someone who would be willing to walk him daily or have a dog-walker daily. That would help him get off some of that baby fat!!

I'm not supposed to have favorites here but I do. Just like any parent I try not to let them know. Dex is truly my best boy! He has earned the highest honors in my home. My husband Jerry who is less than delighted with the volume of dogs who live in our home also know Dex is our best boy! He follows Jerry around from room to room, even into the bathroom, but he isn't annoying, he just likes "relaxing" with people. He comes and sits down next to you for a pat and a rub, then he settles in to watch TV with us. He is a dear, dear dog who deserves to find his family so he can give all that love to them.

Observations from his friend & weekly dog walker Bruno: “Dexter is a delight. He enjoys walking and will run for a while if I let him. Laid back, friendly, gentle."

As with all LnF dogs, they live in a foster home with our family, guaranteed to love people with gentle & sound dispositons, get along well with other dogs, are all fully vetted with all their necessary shots, spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested for Heartworm/Lyme (negative), de-wormed, crate & house trained.  Thank you for choosing to adopt!

A minimum 4 foot high fence is always mandatory – there are NO  exceptions to a physical fence & we do not accept any type of electric fence.
