"310" Happy Tails since 02-24-04!"

Hello everyone --
we try to help as many dogs and human beings as we can when they need our help. Now, we have to ask for help for ourselves.
We have run up over $8,000 in vet bills from our "broken Dogs" Winston, Conall, Sheila, Ariabella and our new baby girl Alexandra. NOTE the gaping wound on her neck & back. Her full story is listed on her profile under our "list" of adoptable dogs to the left.
Your support allows us to continue to rescue dogs like this

In the beginning, I was lost and so scared! I was the lucky one who was rescued by Lost and Found Dog Rescue from the shelter the day I was supposed to die.
~~ This is Conall just 2 1/2 weeks later in his foster home
sound asleep --- snoring!! ~~

Alexandra Update 04-26-07

This was taken outside of the Brandywine Vet Hospital 04-26-07.
The really great news is Alexandra does not have a broken legs or ribs has I had suspected. She is severely injured but it will heal without surgery.
Her profound wound in her chest had to be cultured to see if there is an infection in there and she is on the best antibiotics for her Baytil. She is as you can see, the sweetest, gentlest little soul.
Thankfully we have been able to save her life and we are happy to do that, but until the "Non-Profit Grant Fairy" starts putting checks in our mailbox, we need to ask you to help defer our huge vet bills so that we can continue our work.
My greatest fear would be that someday I would have to say "No, I can not take anymore "broken dogs" because we have no money to pay for their care." I do not want any dog to die over lack of money.
We are asking all animal lovers who believe in the work we do here at L&F Dog Rescue to donate. If we had 500 people donate any amount, say $5.00 or $10.00, we could raise the money to pay The Brandywine Vet Hospital sooner. Donations may be made directly to them. Their phone number is: (610) 459-0500.
Our goal is to raise $8,000

We are proud to be one of the few rescues in Delaware that provides medical care for what we call "broken dogs." We are only able to do that thanks to Dr. Brad Gray of the Brandywine Vet Hospital. It's through his skill and dedication that these dogs are made whole. He performs the surgery and his hospital has a state of the art facility which includes and underwater treadmill for their physical therapy.
Their kindness at Brandywine is only surpassed by their patience and generosity. To begin with, they provide a generous "rescue" discount. Then, they allow us the time we need to raise funds to pay off the bills. It's thanks to people like Dr. Gray and his staff that we can even consider taking in these wounded dogs. Injured animals are euthanized because proper treatment is so expensive. It may not be financially prudent to take these dogs in, but we just can't say no when we know we have a wonderful Vet like Dr. Gray who can make them whole again.
