We found Conall in a shelter in South Carolina in this condition. He was very sick as you can see below and he was Heartworm postive. We had to put him in the emergency hospital because he is so severely anemic. He was given a blood tranfusion which saved his life.

Conall's Story:
We need foster homes to save dogs like Conall
PRAYER OF A STRAY
Dear God please send me somebody who'll care!
I'm tired of running, I'm sick with despair.
My body is aching, it's so racked with pain.
And Dear God I pray as I run in the rain,
That someone will love me and give me a home.
A warm cozy bed I can call my own
My last owner neglected me and chased me away
To rummage in garbage and live as a stray.
But now God I'm tired and hungry and cold.
And I'm afraid that I'll never grow old.
They've chased me with sticks and hit me with stones
While I run in the streets just looking for bones!
I'm not really bad God, please help if you can.
For I have become just a "VICTIM OF MAN!"
I'm wormy, dear God, I'm ridden with fleas
While all I want is an owner to please!
If you find one for me God, I'll try to be good
I won't run away and I'll do as I should.
I don't think I'll make it too long on my own,
Cause I'm getting so weak and I'm so all alone.
Each night as I sleep in the bushes I cry,
Cause I'm so afraid God, that I'm gonna die!
And I've got so much love and devotion to give,
That I should be given a new chance to live.
So Dear God PLEASE, PLEASE answer my prayer
And send me somebody who WILL really care --

Lost and Found Dog Rescue decided to take Conall as well Sheila after seeing this picture below of him. He was scheduled to be "put down" the morning we agreed to take him.

Conall was very sick as you can see. Conall has tested "high positive" for Heartworm. He also has a "dead eye" and we will have to have it removed. However, due to his current physical state, his body would not be able to handle the treatment or surgery. We will have to nurture Conall for a little while and "get some meat on his bones" before we can put him through the rigorous Heartworm treatment, eye removal and neuter.

Conall is about 2 years, and as far as his breed is concerned, I can see Boxer in him, and something else. Something will large hanging jowls. Some of the volunteers at the shelter think he may have some Mastiff in him as Conall has drooping jowls and a big face. The good news is that Conall is eating and has gained 12 pounds! Look at that belly!! This is Conall sound asleep at his foster home 02-28-07. For a dog who has lived on the streets all his life as he has, this is a very high honor to us that he trusts us enough to fall asleep in that vunerable position.

Conall is an extremely grateful rescue dog who is so happy to have someone, anyone be kind to him, that he just sits in his crate and thumps his tail like crazy every time I walk in the room. He thumped his tail so hard he made the tip bleed. He is affectionate, playful and ready to please. When you talk to him he *twists* his ears up in the cutest way.

Our wish for Sheila and Conall (as with every L&F dog) is to find them each a family of their own to love and love them back. We could use your help by sponsoring Sheila or Conall. Lost and Found Dog Rescue provides a caring and a nurturing environment until we adopt each individual dog. However, the same way it costs money to care for a healthy dog, it also costs money to provide constant and continual care, especially for a special needs dogs like Winston, Austin, Sheila and now Patrick.

By sponsoring a dog, you can help to alleviate our costs and allow this rescue to continue to save the dogs we do. Sponsoring a dog may take the form as a weekly or monthly donation, or you can make a one-time donation on our secure Website where we take Discover, AMEX, VISA/MasterCard and PayPal. It's your choice!

Payments may also made directly with Visa/MasterCard, AMEX at Brandywine Vet Hospital in any of our dog's names.
The number for Brandywine Vet is:
610-459-0500.

Please inform Lost and Found Dog Rescue if you make a direct payment to Brandywine Vet so we can provide you a tax receipt for this donation as soon as possible.

PLEASE NOTE:
Any dog/pup adopted from us must have a fenced in property either Physical or Electric Fence. The fence must be installed/or firm commitment prior to us processing an adoption application. Mention that you saw them at our website. http://www.petstop.com/

We abide by the Humane Association's recommendation. For ANY DOG adoption to have a relatively good chance of success, we believe a child should be 8 years old & up. We only adopt what we call our "BONA-FIDE Kid Lovers to families with children." Many dogs do not want to live with children. You should only adopt a dog who LOVES kids to be sure you are able to make a lifetime commitment to a dog.

We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily. This can be through a family member, neighbor, or Petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.

We have several Petsitting service companies that we can recommend:
