UPDATE!!! My dearest Davidson (Sonny) has a new Mommy & Daddy, 3 two legged siblings and 1 four legged sister. He is getting another yellow lab sister only she is all grown up. We're thrilled for this baby boy. He is quite the charmer and his Aunt Marleen will miss his *smile* & his wiggle butt and constant tail wagging. He has brought sweet memories back to me with his spirit. He is very much in spirit of my own wonderful boy Cinn who I lost 2 years ago at 12. I'm sure his Mommy will send me pictures often and let me see him as he grows into adulthood.
It was a GOOD day in rescue that two of our Parvo babies lived and will be loved for the rest of their lives.

Davidson & Caramel will be making their first "public appearance" at the Rover Romp on Saturday 9-25-04 from 12-4. Hope you'll stop by to meet them!

UPDATE: Yesterday morning Sonny discovered a cache of rolled up socks on the sofa that I had not put away yet. Well, talk about LOL! He was running around the living room with his new treasures and presenting them to his sister Caramel. She thought they were OK but even though she is supposed to be the retriever, her brother seems to have her beat there. He does chase after balls (or anything you throw for him) to retrieve them and he proudly brings them back to you. I just LOVE this little smiling boy and I know whoever adopts him will fall in love with him too.

This is our 13-14 week old dear Davidson, or I call him Sonny. He is the cutest, little tail-thumper, wiggle-butt puppy that I've seen in a LONG time!
He is just too cute and I could just eat his little face! He is an
odd "combination" as far as breeds go. He definitely has German
Shepherd in him, you can see the V on his chest. What is odd is
his coat. His whole back is very curly and I would say it is the
coat of a Chesapeake. Also, he is actually going to be a very big boy,
at least 80 pounds or more.

We almost lost him and his sister to Parvo (see below) a few weeks back but they are perfectly healthy now and have been given a clean bill of health. They are up to date with their shots, de-wormed, and started on their Heartworm medication and Frontline.

He and his sister Caramel love each other and play/fight all day but
when it's time to settle, they cuddle up together and sleep together
in their crate. We are working on potty training and they are getting
the hang of it.
If interested, you can apply online at our website under the heading of forms/applications.

To help de-fray these Parvo puppies vet bils, donations are being accepted from Lost & Found Dog Rescue Adoption Center Inc. which will be tax deductible or donations can be mailed or called in a credit card to Brandywine Vet Hospital to be paid for Caramel & Davidson.

They are located at 1270 Baltimore Pike in Chadds Ford, PA 19317. You can contact them at 610/459-0500.

UPDATE: 9-4-04 We are pleased to say "What a difference a week can make!" A week ago tonight these babies were dying from complications of Parvo and now they are eating, playing, putting on weight. It's as if (to them) they had never been sick. To us, it is a miracle that they are still here with us alive!

We still want them to be in quarantine for another week but we will be accepting applications on these little "shelter babies" now. If interested, please request one and we'll forward it immediately.

These are our two latest "shelter babies" who have had a terrible start in life. The first time I saw them was 8-11-04 when they were in the back of a pick up truck being dumped off at the SPCA. There were 5 of them all together. I pulled three right off the back of the truck and put them in my car. I was only able to do that because we had just had a new foster family join our group Marissa & Karen and they said they could care for 1 adult dog or 2 puppies.

So very sadly, I did not have any more foster homes for the other two so I tearfully watched as they were carried into the SPCA in Georgetown.

It drove me crazy that I left those two behind so I mentioned it to other people and Harley's Mom who more then has her hands full with Harley's radiation and fostering our dear Bandit ... offered to foster these babies too. So, off she went the 93 miles -- one way --- to pick up the babies. YEAH! We were going to save all 5 of them! We had already adopted their littermates, Maggie, Chloe and Ziggy.

Unfortunately, our 2 babies contracted Parvo, Kennel Cough which then turned into pneumonia at the SPCA. They were immediately hospitalized and thankfully did survive.

I can hear them on my porch barking and wrestling with each other as I type this. It is truly a miracle that they lived. We were actually advised to let Caramel "go" because her survival chances were so low. Thankfully our vet decided to give her another day to see if she would come around. We're so glad we gave the go ahead to do whatever it takes to help her live.

Now, having said all that, this is where we hope you all can help us. We have run up several thousand dollars in vet bills to save these babies.

We're very glad we did but since we do not have any grants or funding yet, we do not have that kind of money. Not even close to that kind of money. We are requesting any donations of any amount to help us pay off their vet bills.
