About Teddi Bear - Adopted!

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
Dear Marleen, Just a note about our wonderful new addition, Teddi Bear (Cutie). We couldn't be happier with her bubbling personality and spirited behavior. Our vet says she is very healthy with a wonderful disposition. She has already taken over the house and loves to romp in our back yard. She still loves her squeak toys, but we wish she wouldn't love them so much at 6am. Next week she starts obedience school to improve her leash habits. She was well worth the trip to Delaware! Thank you very much! With love, Jim & Diana PS She also loves to ride in the car. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Breed Expert's here at Petfinder believe that our Cutie is a Bernese Mountain Dog MIX. What we know is that Cutie is about 70 pounds of pure sweetest and muscle! She has a beautiful, fuzzy black and tan coat with a docked tail and wonderful, expressive eyes. She is gorgeous, sweet, affectionate, and full of personality! She was found as a stray was recently rescued from the Georgetown, DE SPCA. She is safe now and being fostered in Claymont, DE. She's only a year old and still has all her puppy-ness! She's had a rough life and we think she may never have had a puppyhood. One of her most endearing traits is, she ALWAYS sits on chairs. I don't mean living room furniture chairs, (although she does that too!) I mean kitchen chairs, waiting room chairs. She just sits there like a person. Like her, it is so cute!! She is a very friendly, loving pup who loves nothing more then smothering you with kisses! Her foster Mom knows she will make someone a wonderful companion. She spent 28 days in the shelter and this is one happy, grateful girl! She is extremely playful and has been having a great time running, & playing, with the younger foster puppies. She also loves her squeaky toys. The "squeaker" the better! She has no issues or concerns about other dogs. She met several children at the vets office when she was spayed and she was happy to see them. She wags her stubby tail at everyone! Happy to report that Cutie is improving on the leash. No one has ever taught her what is expected of her. Don't worry though, she is so eager to please!! When you speak to her, she looks directly into your eyes. You can see that she is trying to “understand” what you want. She really wants to learn. It won't take long for her to be obedience trained. She is also being taught housebreaking and is doing especially well for a girl who never even got to live indoors until now. She has been temperament tested & evaluated and is ready for adoption. If interested, please request an online application by e-mail from Marleen at animalrescue@comcast.net
