About Lady - Adopted!

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
UPDATE: DAMSEL IN DISTRESS NO MORE!!! Our pretty little ballerina has been adopted and not only does she have a new Mom & Dad but her very own little girl who Lady bonded with immediately! Oh, we are so relieved and happy for this pretty little one. She's had a rough time in life ... but now that is all behind her and she is going HOME to go live in King of Prussia, PA.

Poor little sweet Lady needs to be rescued from her foster sisters Blu, Sasha and Hope. While all the girls play wonderfully together, these 3 are like tom-boys and really rough house. She is so small that these hooligans accidently run her over constantly. Our little Lady is just that ... a LADY! She does not care for these shenanigans and would much rather spend her days resting comfortably on the sofa with her people. She does enjoy a game of ball, now and again, but, for sport, she prefers to dance like a little ballerina, twirling gracefully (if we didn't know better, we would swear that she was a circus performer in her previous life) . So, if someone would like to rescue this darling little girl and get her into a calm and serene home, she would greatly appreciate that.

This is our beautiful little Lady. She is a one year old, sweet and small, 25 1/2lb. apricot/golden terrier mix that will just take your breath away with her lovely, expressive eyes (her eyes are the same color as her wonderful coat) and gentle disposition. Lady enjoys nothing more than curling up (would it be okay with you if she is on the couch?) and taking a well-deserved snooze. She is docile and loving, yet has a playful personality, engaging in fun and games with the other dogs in her foster home. She is absolutely at her cutest when she does her wonderful ballerina twirl when waiting for treats--it is quite a show!!

While the shelter that she was rescued from had been given information from her former owners that she was good with children, it is quite clear to us that children have NOT been good to her. When she met my 5 year old son (who is gentle and quiet with all of the shelter dogs and happily acts as our test subject), she was so clearly terrified that it broke all of our hearts. She was not the least bit aggressive with him, but she just watched him with utter fear in her eyes, as if expecting him to harm her at any minute. For this reason, we feel that it is in her best interest not to be placed in a home with young children. This little princess deserves to be in a loving home, where she is made to feel cherished and safe.

She gets along very well with other dogs, sharing her food bowl (yes, that IS amazing) and tolerating even the most rambunctious pups. And, just to make her even more perfect, she doesn't seem to give a hoot about cats!

UPDATE FROM LADY'S FOSTER MOM: It is a squeaky toy festival here. It is such a joy to see these "shelter babies" having the fun they were entitled to. It's so wonderful to seem them all alive and playing!!

They are also being taught basic commands and everyone has learned to SIT ... so far. Now they just all need their own families so they can have all the individual attention they deserve. If you are interested in any of "the girls" please request an adoption application and we'll send it to you immediately.

The girls are all between 9 months to 1 1/2 years old. They all have been Heartworm, Ehrlichia, LymeAB test tested, given 1st month of Heartguard medication, Frontline Plus, Rabies, Distemper, Parvo vaccines, Intra Trac ll Kennel Cough and First De-Worming, Spayed and Micro-Chipped. They are crated trained and housebroken.
