About Zoe - Adopted!

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
UPDATE from Zoe's Mom: Ms Zoe is doing just fine. She and Sadie seem to really hit it off. They're both snugglers and love to bump and play with each other. At times they can get a bit too boisterous for the kitchen, but we don't leave them alone together, so we can keep the destruction to a minimum.

It goes without saying that we all love her. She's as smart a dog as I've ever seen.( I know, every parent says this, but I've known a lot of dogs and it's true!) So far she can come, sit, stay, and has a pretty good understanding of "no" as well. She does fairly well on a lead and we've had her out each night for a walk.

She was spayed today, so she's not up to par tonight. The vet , Dr. Brandt seems very nice and I am thinking of taking the cats to him going forward.

Thank you for everything- I appreciate all you did for Zoe and for us, and appreciate the work you and Lisa do. Don't forget that you have friends in Georgetown.

Lynda

Well, fortunately for Zoe and unfortunately for all of you wonderful animal lovers who wanted to take her into your hearts, Zoe's new family has been chosen. Her new mom, Lynda, had actually met Zoe at the SPCA and had fallen in love with her. When she went back the following day to adopt her, she was told that our rescue had already taken her out of that scary place.

Lynda felt such a connection with Zoe, that she was willing to contact us IMMEDIATELY, fill out our extensive application AND make arrangements to pick her up all the way up here in Claymont.

She will have a mom, a dad, a brother and a canine sister at home--and a big sister that has her own farm! We knew from the start that we could not have asked for a more devoted family for our sweet little girl. And while we just hate having to disappoint all of the families that were so eager to give Zoe a wonderful life, we are very excited for Zoe and her new family--we believe that this will be the PERFECT fit! Thank you so much to everyone who contacted us about Zoe and we wish you the best of luck in finding your own perfect match!

We are very excited to tell you that Zoe has been rescued from the SPCA and is now enjoying a comfortable and relaxing vacation with her foster family. She had an uneventful car ride of approximately 2 hours today and did very well, but is exhausted from all that she has been through in the past couple of weeks. This sweet girl has just made herself right at home and looks at everyone that she meets with utter adoration. Wouldn't you just love to have her look at you that way??

Our vet has estimated her to be about 10-12 months old, although the people who turned her in to the SPCA said that she was just 6 months. The pictures of Zoe make her appear to be a bit smaller than she truly is..she weighs 28 lbs and is approximately the height of a cocker spaniel. She really is as cute as a bug's ear with a lovely, sweet personality. We will update you as we get to know her better!

Zoe has tested negative for heartworm's and Lyme disease, had her necessary vaccines, and is scheduled to be spayed next week. We are starting her on Frontline Plus to protect her from fleas and ticks and HeartGuard to protect her from heartworm's.

If you believe that our Zoe may be just the girl that you are looking for, please request an application by sending an e-mail to the address at your right. We would very much appreciate your limiting your contact with us to the e-mail system, as we simply do not have time to handle the deluge of phone calls.
