ADOPTED!
A very nice family came to meet Jayden today all the way from Cape May Point in South Jersey. It was clearly loved at first sight, they didn't need my standard 48-hours as we could all see -- she was the one!
Now she'll now have a big sister pug, Mom & Dad & several 2-legged siblings.
So I'm taking JJ home on Thursday but this winter she will get to go to her parents other home in Floria. I couldn't be happier for my adorable little girl -- she has been such a dear little woman & a wonderful foster! She'll be my #550th adoption since 2-24-2004.
The first thing you need to know about Jayden is ..... As tiny as she is -- only 14 lbs -- I watched her methodically climb out of a chain-link fence by putting her paws in the links & when she got to the top she jumped over! So, given her talent for escaping, I will require that she can only be adopted into a home with a 4 to 6-foot high wood or vinyl fence so no chain-link or split rail fence for Ms. Jayden!
Jayden is a Chocolate & White mini-Boston Terrier. About 3-years old & only 14 lbs. She is just the sweetest, gentlest loving little girl. What a joy she is as my foster-baby. Very sad to report that she has been abused by her former owner b/c when you reach for her she ducks & rolls into a ball! Yet, she still wants to be as close to you as possible & she is not a fear-biter at all. She's truly a precious little girl. Since she arrived she has paired off with her little girlfriend Madison, a young Papillion. They can be seen together sleeping together on my living room chair. Also posted a video below that I took her sleeping & snoring in my office this morning. Both she & Madison follow me from room to room so you can see what wonderful little lap/companion little girls they will be when adopted.
Another thing you need to know is that Jayden did test positive for a tick-borne disease called Ehrlichia. She is not sick at all, just tested positive but I will give her a full 6-week course of Doxycycline to be sure that she will NOT become sick. I've had great success over the years treating this disease so -- not to worry but I always require providing to potential adopters all the information I have about the dog's health & disposition.
