About Charlize-Went Home '05! | |
|
|
1/05/06 Charlize went home to her new family today- Mom, dad, and two girls to adore her. They are even intending to look for a second dog after she settles in because they could see how much she loved having doiggie playmates at our house!
Charlize is an adorable, soft, fluffy baby, 7 months old She is very sweet and exceptionally intelligent - she listens well and learns fast.
12-18-05 Because of her energy level and her separation anxiety, Charlize really needs another dog to play with and keep her company when no one’s at home. Also, although Charlize has always been incredibly outgoing and friendly with the adults that have come to our home, she showed no interest in the children who came on a recent visit. For this reason, we would recommend that she be adopted only into homes with older children, teens and up.
12-04-05 New foster home update: We agree with everything her last foster family said! She is a sweetheart who you can't help falling in love with! Like many collies, she is sensitive and has some separation anxiety, so she needs lots of TLC to let her know that people leave but ALWAYS come back. She would do better in a home with company during the day, either people or another dog. She likes to sleep at our feet in the living room and wiggles all over with delight when someone comes home. She is learning her manners- sit, paw, as well as the invisble fence.
From the moment we met Charlize we fell in love with her sweet face and her loving way about her. She's very affectionate, likes to give kisses, and she's very playful and loves dogs and cats.
Housetraining has been going great! She's a very good pup. Charlize is a complete sweetheart and we want very much to find her the good, loving, caring home that she deserves.
Charlize came to us from Wetzel, West Virgina where she was picked up as a stray.
All L&F dogs/pups are crate & potty trained, temperament tested, have been chosen for sweet & gentle dispositions, have lived in foster homes with families, and have had the following:
SPAYED/NEUTERED
Microchipping
Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia
On HeartGuard & Frontline Plus
Rabies, Distemper, Parvo vaccines.
Intra Trac ll Kennel Cough
Two De-Worming
PLEASE NOTE: We do not place puppies in homes where they will be left alone all day. Part-time is ok. Puppies, like babies, need lots of attention, socialization and cuddles. We do not feel that it is humane to leave them in a crate for 8-10 hours at a time. .
If you are applying for an adult dog, we do expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily, whether it is through a family member, neighbor or petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.
We have several petsitting service companies that we can recommend:
www.homesweethomepetsit.org/ in PA & DE
www.delawarepooperscoopers.com in PA, NJ, & DE
http://www.tlcpetsitting.net/ in MD
We also have a wonderful all day Doggy Day Care service:
Fuzzy Butts Doggy Day Care in Chadds Ford, PA
www.fuzzybuttsPA.com
(I have visited this facility and it is wonderful and reasonable)
