Note from Donny's foster Mom:
Donny went home today! He has a wonderful new Mom, Dad and 4-legged brother to love and cherish him forever. We will miss sweet, sweet Donny terribly, but we know he is in a happy home. Kisses, Donny! We love you!
Donny met his wonderful new family yesterday. We are so happy that our sweet, sweet Donny has finally found his forever home. He will be loved and cherished by his new Mom and Dad and his new, very large, lovable 4-legged brother!
Sometimes it takes a while for a dog to find his perfect home and a family to find their perfect dog, but it has finally happened for Donny!

Are you looking to adopt & extremely friendly, affectionate dog who loves ALL people, dogs & even kitties? Then our Donny might be the special boy for you. This video shows him meeting total strangers & this is how he reacts to everyone.
Donny has been in our home for a short time, but we have already come to adore him. He is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever known. He gets along wonderfully with our other dogs. There was no adjustment period at all.
For the first time since we've had Donny, we tested him with cats so he could go into foster care. Much to everyone's surprise -- he LOVES THEM! He thinks they are just fabulous -- a hound who loves cats -- very surprised! That should truly help him find a home that has cats --
Donny like most hounds is a sight hound with high prey instincts. He runs my 6 foot fence back & forth chasing the squirrels & birds on the other side. He can see & smell things the average dog might miss. We will require a 6 foot privacy fence for him, or a chain link fence or split rail with an upgrade to www.petstop.com will be considered for his safety. He is also not a City Dog - he needs a large fenced in property to run & play in & he is a very verbal Redbone who bays at this prey.
UPDATE from Donny's Foster Mom: This sweet, docile hound is so handsome with his firey engine RED coat. His coat has a beautiful sheen and he is like a young colt with his very tall legs. He is totally submissive & even the little dogs put him in his place so he can be adopted into any family with other dogs. He loves everyone and has the soft endearing eyes of a hound. Everyone who loves dogs should consider the hound as their next dog. They are so special, they stole my heart years ago. Did I mention their ears? Hound ears are like rubbing your fingers in thick velvet. Their ears are like no other dogs that I have ever rescued!!
Donny has arrived from our favorite shelter Wetzel County Pound in WV. He had been shot, (can't tell you how many dogs we have rescued from WV who have been shot!) He was abandoned on the side of the road - another common thread from our dogs in WV - and he stayed there for a few days waiting for someone to help him. Thankfully someone came along & brought him into Rosy. He is so sweet & submissive and loves everyone & other dogs.
He is a long, tall soft & gentle very RED Redbone. He looks just like our beautiful Julianna. He is fine now from being shot and now we would love to have him start his new life with someone who sees what a beauty he is.
