Nathan is very sweet and gentle. He is about 9 months old and was captured by animal control as a stray. He looks like a small Golden Retriever and yellow lab. He is on the small side for those breeds, only 31 pounds so I would say he may only go to 40 pounds full grown. He is the original waggle butt! He is so happy to have your attention, that his tail just wags his bottom. This boy is a real sweetheart. He is going to make someone a very wonderful companion.
Someone abused this little pup and he flinches when you first come near him. He also falls to the ground submissively and rolls over to give you his belly. Now that he knows all us he is much better and we have all seen him blossom. We know that we need to place him with a family who has had an abused dog before and experienced the joy of watching an abused dog become a "normal" dog. It takes love, patience and time. It is an experience that is one of my favorites. I love to watch abused dogs become the dogs they were meant to be.
We also want to be sure to place him in a home were it is quiet and peaceful -- like he is. We do not want to place Nathan with children. We feel it's best for him that he get to be someone's "4 legged kid" rather then competing for the attention of 2 legged children.
