Well, another Good Day in Rescue! We got the call that this beauty has been
adopted. She went for a visit and charmed (I'm not in the least surprised)
the entire family into loving her!
She charmed me at the shelter with those beautiful eyes that look into your soul and sweet, gentle soul.
We're very, very happy for our Sophie (formerly Autumn) to having a new Mommy who promises to love her dearly.
I picked this lovely soul yesterday at the Georgetown, DE SPCA. She is very, very black lab looking. I would consider her 95% lab. She has a very small white mark on her chest.
She is just a baby herself, perhaps 1 year old. I picked her because she is so sweet, friendly, affectionate and calm for a lab. She also got me with what I consider an adorable trait ... she curls her ears as a greeting and with happiness. She is just so happy to be with humans! She drove home in the front seat of my car like a little angel.
She came into the shelter as a stray, witnessed by her large red collar that proves she was tied up outside somewhere. She just had a litter of pups but she is scheduled to be spayed on Wednesday 9-29-04. She is now up to date with all her shots, de-wormed and will be micro-chipped when she is spayed.
The shelter said she is housebroken because she HATED to have to go to the bathroom in her kennel. She wanted to go outside. She is doing the same thing here. What a good girl!!
She will be in quarantine for 10 days (as of 9-23-04) just to be sure she is perfectly healthy. She was diagnosed with Lyme but of course we already have her on antibiotics for that. She has no symptoms, just tested positive for Lyme and the good news is negative for Heartworm.
She has already been started on her Heartguard and Frontline Plus. If she seems like the girl for you, please fill out our online application.
