UPDATE: Laci is perfect except she is food aggressive with her dog bowl with other dogs -- never humans -- I can take anything away from her & have tested her many times but she does not want any dog coming near food even when she is done. Sometimes their lives have been so hard that food is very important to them. She came to us emaciated. I actually think the people loved her but couldn't afford to take care of her b/c she is extremely loving and affectionate and LOVES LOVES LOVES men! She is almost a seductress with them. She just wiggles up real close and looks into their eyes. She loves us woman but she will try to steal your boyfriend! That's the kind of girl she is!

UPDATE: We have literally hundreds of dogs transported from as far as KY and SC. This beauty came from South Carolina so she spent a long time with her transporters. I have never had to dog get compliments like this:

Marleen,
All I can say is OH MY GOD - SHE IS THE SWEETEST DOG! As we speak she is in the yard with my husband, lying under a tree with a toy and a bowl of water - she is just watching every move he makes while he works in the yard. She has attached herself to him and if he doesn't stop every so often to pet her and talk to her, she paws him and stares up at him with those beautiful eyes and leans into him with her whole body.

She has eaten and pottied and played. She's wonderful with my daughter (11 years old) and has met all four boys and likes them all - she's playful and sweet. She walks nicely on a leash AND - GET THIS, she sits on command AND she sits while you prepare her food.

She walked into her crate with no hesitation, she's shown no signs of wanting to potty in the house. She was wonderful in the car.

I got one tick off her but he wasn't attached so she could have picked him up on the transport run. I did hit her with the Advantix since she'll be outside off and on today with us just to keep her safe from the creepy crawlers.

She's spayed (for some reason I thought she wasn't) so that's cool - no need for the super isolation! She's an absolute angel. I can't say enough good things about her. She's quiet (no barking or whining) but she's totally friendly with doggies and humans of all kinds. She hasn't met the cat yet but I don't have any fears, he's pretty dog savvy.

An all around sweet girl with the prettiest eyes I've ever seen! They stare right thru to your soul! She is an easy keeper too so far - she's settled in completely, no signs of nervousness, nothing. This is going to be the easiest overnight I've ever done!

No food aggression - STUPID husband stuck his hand in the bowl and took it away from her for a second and she didn't care at all (I told him that was not his brightest move - he said he "had a feeling" she'd be fine, oh boy!) I have NOT fed her with the other dogs though - so no aggression whatsoever toward humans (and she takes treats very gently, from adults and kids) but don't know about with other animals.

My husband is completely taken with her too - he can't stop smiling at her and every time I walk past him, he says "Isn't she sweet???"

She's even prettier in person than in her pictures - her coat has a lot of red to it and the sun shines on her and it's amazing. She's a gorgeous dog.

Oh my God Marleen! This dog is absolutely unreal. There isn't anything that's not perfect about her. My husband just told me she's "perfect just the way she is, the instant perfect pet" and he's harder to please than me, I get one look at a sad face and I fall in love - it takes a special dog to get under his skin like this one has.

She plays fetch happily and gives up the ball for you to throw again. She's an angel. This one is going to make someone very very very happy!

Poor thing is so skinny but she's in good spirits and has a good appetite. She has NO INTEREST in my "Eagle Pack Holistic Select Lamb & Rice" (I usually try that one first because it's easy on the tummy) but she liked the chicken and rice version just fine. She went on a walk with my husband and daughter. She is WONDERFUL on leash.

I can't wait until you meet her, you are going to fall instantly in love with this doll baby.

One more thing that I don't think I mentioned - Laci has NO ISSUES with the cat. Those two ate together tonight rather than feeding her with the monsters. Not a peep from either of them - and I have the GRUMPIEST cat in all the world! She has no interest in chasing him or messing with him at all.
WOW!!

This beautiful girl is on her way from South Carolina this weekend. She was found standing along side of the road. It was as if someone had dropped her off and she was waiting for them to come back. They did not return --- so luckily someone was kind enough to help her. They took her to the shelter or she might still be standing there waiting for her people.

Laci is a big beautiful girl with long legs. She needs to put on at least 10 pounds or so. We'll take care of that.

We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily. This can be through a family member, neighbor, or Petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.

We have several Petsitting service companies that we can recommend:

We abide by the Humane Association's recommendation. For ANY DOG adoption to have a relatively good chance of success, we believe a child should be 8 years old & up. We only adopt what we call our "BONA-FIDE Kid Lovers to families with children." Many dogs do not want to live with children. You should only adopt a dog who LOVES kids to be sure you are able to make a lifetime commitment to a dog.

Any dog/pup adopted from us must have a fenced in property either Physical or Electric Fence. The fence must be installed before we will proceed with processing an adoption application. If you need a fence for your dog, but are not permitted to have a physical fence, or chose not to, please visit our friends at Pet Stop. Mention that you saw them at our website.
