UPDATE: Bea met her new family today including a big wonderful loving 4 legged brother Sherman. She wasn't too thrilled at first since he was SO HAPPY tto see her that he frightened her a bit but they will work it out. She is getting a Mom, Dad and a 3 year old grandchild and one on the way. We found that was fine for Bea --- she is not afraid of kids as so many rescue dogs are. We're very happy for her and know she will love her new parents and they her.
UPDATE: Bea & Cricket arrived last night from WV. What beauties they are.
Bea has an extremely soft, gentle & submissive spirit. She is a stunning blonde. I don't expect that she will go over 35 pounds full grown.

She was terrifed but now that she realizes she is safe, she is out playing with a few of the others and it seems she has a natural talent for tug-of-war. Always a favorite past-time around here. (Donations of pull toys are always appreciated since nothing last very long around here!) but these poor shelter kids do love their toys.

The shelter thought she was just a hound but she definately has Vizsla in her. we adopted another Viz mix and they
look like sisters.

Meet Bea who at only 6 months already had a rough start in life since she came from WV but she hasn't let them keep her from being a loving girl. She is arriving on a transport the weekend
of 6-23-07.

She is on the thin side since she was trying to survive out there alone. She came to the shelter a stray.

We will have her spayed, vetted placed in foster care and she will be ready to start her life anew. Could that be with you?

We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily. This can be through a family member, neighbor, or Petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.

We have several Petsitting service companies that we can recommend:

Good Dog Animal Care -

Servicing the Kennett Square PA area
Call: (484)645-3130 - Meghan and Jackie Herb

Pet Valet services include transporting to and from Vet or grooming, dog walking and pet sitting - e-mail: leeterri2001@yahoo.com or call 302-369-3074

We abide by the Humane Association's recommendation. For ANY DOG adoption to have a relatively good chance of success, we believe a child should be 8 years old & up. We only adopt what we call our "BONA-FIDE Kid Lovers to families with children." Many dogs do not want to live with children. You should only adopt a dog who LOVES kids to be sure you are able to make a lifetime commitment to a dog.

Any dog/pup adopted from us must have a fenced in property either Physical or Electric Fence. The fence must be installed before we will proceed with processing an adoption application. If you need a fence for your dog, but are not permitted to have a physical fence, or chose not to, please visit our friends at Pet Stop. Mention that you saw them at our website.
