6/29/06 Well, Romero went home. What a wonderful home he has. He is one lucky little guy. His parents are really nice people!! They met him at the Mingle and fell in love with this sweetheart.

6/23/06 Are you looking for a lover or a friend for you current dog, either way Romero is your man. This dog would be happy with a playmate or as the sole companion. He is very easy to please and will give you more love than you could imagine. He sleeps up close to your side while you sleep at night. If you have another dog he will play and play until they are both tired out. You can not lose with this dog, Romero is a win win dog!! 6/13/06 Romero was a huge hit at the baseball game. The women all fell in love with him. He is the sweetest dog I've had here and loves to cuddle and is surely a lap dog. He really liked all the kids the youngest child there however was about 8. A 12 year old boy fell in love with him and picked him up and took a rawhide from his mouth without any problem at all. I think he was a stray for a bit by some of his actions, he will get scared if there is a quick move or a sound he isn't ready for. He will quickly back away as if he is being shooed away. (note: This is typical of a rescue dog and will fade with time, but adopters have to be patient and understanding of this kind of behavior.)

Someone is going to be so lucky to have the chance to have this sweet dog in their life.

Scout and him are perfect. He will tell Scout when to cool and believe me Scout needs that!!

UPDATE: This is Romero sitting on my lap leaning on my chest. I was talking to a friend and as always he just comes up and snuggles. He just LOVES to give LOTS of kisses to everyone and all he wants it to be held. He is just a little guy, (only 25 pounds) so you don't mind. He is housebroken and really LOVES to be outside. He just sits in the sun and watches --- well, I don't know what he is watching, but he is.

He really will need his own fenced in yard so he can sit and sun himself as he does here.

He is a darling lover boy, just bestows kisses as if there is no tomorrow! We should have named him Romeo because he is such a sweet and adoring little lover boy! He just LOVES people and other dogs.

I picked him up from the vet after his neuter and he sat like a a perfect gentleman on the front seat of my truck and kissed me for 25 miles!! I thought his tongue would fall off. He is so sweet, so loving, SO AFFECTIONATE!

If you're offended by a million kisses he is NOT the boy for you. He is going to be the greatest little companion dog. He loves people and LOVES his toys. He plays with and enjoys his toys without having the need to shred them as so many dogs do. He is grateful for the smallest little toy!

This handsome young man has arrived on our transport 05-06-06 from the Wetzel County Shelter in West Virginia.

UPDATE 05-06-06: Well Rosy said he is adorable and she is (as always) correct! He is only about 25 pounds and has the sweetest face and expressions! His coat and a beautiful rust and black and very striking. He was shy when we first met, I'm sure he has been kicked around some, literally, but once he realizes you are kind he wants to be with you.

He is out playing with all his foster brothers and sisters and he gets along very well with everyone.

He is being neutered and vetted this week and will be ready for his new family in about 2 weeks.

Notes from Rosy at Wetzel: The owners moved off and left him. He then started staying at the neighbors, sleeping beside their dog's outside "dog box."

He's a HANDSOME GUY, but CAMERA SHY. The photographer said this was the only dog that has ever intentionally closed his eyes when she tries to photograph him!!! (See photo #3 -so funny!!!) When he got out of the dog wardens truck, he was shy but licked everyone and was sooo submissive. He is very sweet and docile and well mannered!!!
