My sweet baby girl went home today 2-20-05 with her name family. Kay and I have been together since Dec. 9, 2004 and she has become a huge part of my life. My heart is at ease because I know that she is already loved and adored by her family. She has fallen deeply and passionately in love with her Daddy Glenn and George. She is pictured here together in the arms of her Daddy Glenn. That handsome young boy to the right is her new brother Alex.
Yes, it was a WONDERFUL DAY in rescue!
UPDATE: This is a copy of an e-mail that I sent a friend who was complementing me on our beautiful Kayla. I thought I should share how I really feel about her with all of you who read these things:
"You have no idea how gorgeous she really is .... she is like a Greek Goddess with the chiseled nose and eyes ... she is so sweet and playful and well, I just think she is my favorite girl!!
That's what's great about our Mingle with the Mutts because then people get to see how lovely they really are in person" ...
Well, it took us time to figure this out but this 1 year old girl is a greyhound dressed up in a shepherd costume! Her markings are exactly like a shepherd, brown with a black saddle, but that face, eyes and body is that of a greyhound. She is very tall, almost as tall as my 110 pound Akita, but very thin, much too thin. Like our delightful Jesse, this girl is also very beautiful and regal looking. My two new girls are such beauties that I think they should be on the cover of Vogue for dogs! I had to just stop typing for a minute because she came over to give me kisses. Kayla just LOVES to have her ears rubbed!! She LOVES her toys, and most of all she LOVES .. LOVES .. LOVES people!! Kayla is a very warm and gentle creature full of joy and affection.
Kayla was found chained up to a wire gate in the pouring rain. It seems life hasn't been too kind to her --- but she doesn't hold that against anyone. She is still full of love and kisses for everyone. She was rescued by the Kent County SPCA, Camden DE
We're hoping to find her the perfect family who will make her the center of their lives so she'll never feel alone again.
She is spayed, up to date on all her shots, micro-chipped, crate and housetrained.
