We listed this poor baby on our website for another rescue group to help her get more exposure. Well, she was adopted by this family who did see her on our website. Thank you Petfinder! This is what her new family has to say about her:
Hi Marleen,
Just wanted to let you know that Patrick and I adopted Angel from Tammy at W.A.R. on Saturday. Little Angel is doing GREAT! She is the sweetest little creature - everyone who has met her has fallen in love with her. She and Maggie (our chocolate lab) became instant best friends... they snuggle together when they take naps, they chew bones together, and they run around like the dickens outside together and wrestle. We are so happy with her - she is so affectionate, and she seems to be taking everything in stride. We took her with Maggie to doggie daycare on Monday, and she did wonderfully. She was a little timid at first (understandably), but then she really warmed up and had lots of fun playing with the other dogs. The caretakers there told me that Maggie was very protective of Angel - that she would check on her often and give her kisses. Pretty cute!
We took her to the vet last night, just to make sure she was still healing ok. She tested positive for Lyme Disease and Ehrlichisos (which the vet said was to be expected since she spent so much time outside - both are transmitted by ticks). The vet tested her urine and said that Angel is totally healthy, but put her on antibiotics as a precautionary measure. She was so well-behaved, and, of course, got lots of love and attention when they learned about her ordeal.
We can't believe how at ease and happy she seems considering what big changes she's been through. We love her so much already! She is eating just fine, and she seems very comfortable in the house. The first night she slept alone on the couch, but every night since she has slept on our bed at the foot of the bed with Maggie. She cuddled with Patrick last night on his lap on the couch while we watched TV - she seems to be a happy dog so far. We've been giving her lots of treats, kisses, walks, and cuddles.

Notes: This is Angel. As you can see she has been through a very bad ordeal. After giving birth to 5 babies(while on a chain) she was attacked by another dog. She had over 14 bite wounds on her body when brought to the vet. After numerous stitches and several drains she is now on her way to recovery. The drains have been removed and she is healing well. Although she has gone through such horrible trauma her personality is fantastic. She is loving and friendly. She is crate trained, up to date on shots and very well mannered. Knows basic commands such as sit and stay. All she needs now is a new loving family to call her own. The 3rd pic is her today 1/2/05. This baby is completely healed and ready for adoption.
