UPDATE from Dakota's forever family:
Dakota is doing great! He loves the kids and has been very gentle and calm! We do love him and are so happy for all your help finding us such a wonderful new addition to our family! Frankie our cat is letting Dakota know who is boss! Frankie has always been top cat...Dakota will learn that soon!!
I took him to the vet today and she said he looks great and she really likes him! She thinks he is about a year and a half old maybe a little less. So Dakota checked out well!! Thanks for taking such good care of him!! We have a prong for him and I got him a nylabone and some other fun toys. He leaves one toy outside and plays with it in the snow! Dakota really seems to like his new yard, house, and family. I am sure you miss him but we promise we will take the best care of him. After your mom and dad left he kept looking out the front door for them...I am sure he misses all of you! Will you give a message to your mom for me? Tell her that I told Dakota that "this was his forever home"! She'll know what I mean!!
You guys have all been so good to us and we are very grateful. I still miss my dog Abbey so much and I will love her forever but it feels so good to have Dakota with us now.

UPDATE from Dakota's foster family:
What a dog! I mean he is perfect. Well behaved. Gentle. Quiet. He gets along with all the other dogs and the puppy. WE will be sad to see him go.
Dakota is about 9 months old and is a joy to have around. He is very lovable and wants to climb up on the sofa so he can be a lap dog. He just wants to put his whole body on you so he can be close. Due to his youth, he is clumsy which is very funny to watch. He hasn't learned how to use those big legs yet.
He is very good boy and simple to give a bath to.
FYI from L&F Dog Rescue - We don't demand a fenced in yard for every dog we adopt --- but in Dakota's case we will. He is a lab puppy who has a lot of growing and playing to do for the next few years.
UPDATE: We picked up this doll baby, wiggle butt and he is just adorable! He is so friendly and sweet and go with the flow kind of young guy. He really shows the true spirit of a lab. I would say though that he is actually closer to a year then originally stated. He will be at our Mingle with the Mutts if you would like to meet him in person on Saturday.
As with all L&F rescue dogs, he is scheduled to be neutered, up to date on all his shots, on heartworm medication & Frontline Plus, micro-chipped, housebroken and crate trained.
