Update: 11/20/07- Today Gorgeous went home to her new brother and sister who are both Lost and Found alumni! She is so happy to be able to rough house and play and then cuddle in a big bed with the family!
This beautiful girl came to us from a horrible situation in WV. The shelter she was in was extremely overcrowded and then some workers hit the sewer line & all the sewerage ended up in the building and all over the grounds. These poor dogs stood in this for almost a week while the city officials did nothing to help --- well, it is WV and they are just dogs!
Her name was Sheena but when I saw this darling, sweet, gentle wiggle butt who just goes from side to side with joy when you so much as look at her --- I renamed her Gorgeous. She simply so pretty but you can never tell with black dogs in pictures.
In the sun you can see her "Rottie Dots" but she is really all black with a white chest.
She is calm, gentle and loves dogs but most importantly she LOVES people. She is the kind of girl who will just gaze and you and say thank you for allowing ME to love you!
We have had her spayed and of course she is up to date with all her shots and microchipped.

We abide by the Humane Association's recommendation. For ANY DOG adoption to have a relatively good chance of success, we believe a child should be 8 years old & up
All L&F dogs/pups have been:
Temperament tested and has been chosen for having sweet, gentle dispositions.
House Trained & Crate Trained - paper trained if pups
Lives in foster homes with families.
Already SPAYED/NEUTERED
(pups under 5 months must be prepaid)
Microchipped
Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia
On Interceptor (Heartworm medication) & Frontline Plus (for the duration of their stay with us) - Plus they go with a one month supply of both
Complete series of Distemper, Parvo vaccines and Rabies.

If you would like to fill out an application, you must first register on the website and await an e-mailed passcode. Once you have this info, you will be able to access our application.
We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily. This can be through a family member, neighbor, or Petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.
