UPDATE: My beautiful girl went home tonight. She ran in the house, up on the sofa, grabbed her favorite toy --- as if she had always lived there. Genny is my dearest, sweetest girl and I'm so happy that she is starting her life over being the beloved pet that they ALL deserve!

UPDATE: My beautiful girl met her new parents yesterday and her new little brother. Genny has been with us since last July when she along with about 100 other dogs were victims of a sewer line break at the shelter they were in. The sewage came into the building and all the animals had to be moved off the property. Not easy to move 100 animals so they had to wait for us rescue people to move out as many as we could. It was a horrible few weeks for the animals who had to stand outside with no shelter and flies all over them --- but as always, we all pulled together and did what we could to save them. Genny was among them and we are thrilled that her life was spared so that she could start her life here in DE safe and sound and loved.

She had her first squeaky toy fest yesterday with the favorite toy of the adoptive families beloved pet who had passed --- she will be a wonderful companion to this family. It was a very GOOD DAY in rescue for me.

UPDATE: Of all the dogs I have, my very best girl is my Magenta (Genny) who is a true lovebug. She get's along with all the dogs but her main focus is humans. She is constantly making eye contact and has the most calm, gentle, docile soul. She has the soul of a hound but she is a lab mix.

Everyone in LnF Dog Rescue knows that when I say this is my best --- it is!
Best for me means they have good manners, get's along with everyone, extremely easy going. She climbs up on a crate, crosses her front paws and just looks out the window.

We have yet to get a good shot of her, black dogs are the hardest to place and have the highest death rate in shelters, and that is partially due to their not photographing well. She is actually quite lovely, does the cutest thing, always crosses her front paws and then stretches out her back legs like a frog.

She would make the best companion dog you could imagine. She will devote her life to you.

Magenta (Genny) came in our with Gorgeous from the horror story in WV. She was a favorite of the staff there since she is so loving and very smart. She wants to learn all her basic commands, she just needs someone who has the time to teach her. She is extremely sweet and loves everyone.

We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily. This can be through a family member, neighbor, or Petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.
