Bona-Fide Kid Lover!

PLEASE NOTE: Zara has won my highest honor here as a foster. She is my best, best girl! She is an angel and so sweet, loving, gentle and calm. She loves other dogs and plays well, but in a lady-like way. She loves to go for a walk, every dog needs to do that daily --- but is happy to just lounge around. She is not a high energy dog. When she has to potty -- she comes to find me. She has never even had an accident. She does require a 6 foot fence or Petstop electric system.

Zara does have a video below. Zara has turned out to be such a sweet and gentle little lady. She plays but in a very lady like manner. When the rest of the dogs get into tug of war -- and play growling, she leaves and get in her place under my desk or on my sofa. She is easy going and so very pretty.

This is our new petite girl (under 35 pounds) Zara which is French for light. She was transported to us from Kentucky. We agreed to take her when we heard she needed us. We LOVE hounds here at L&F Dog Rescue and when we heard she is sweet, gentle, friendly, and get's along with other dogs we said we would take her. We had wait until she weaned all those babies. You can see she has done a fine job of being a loving Momma. Picture of her and babies below.

We as always have had her spayed & she has already been vetted and microchipped and housebroken.

PLEASE NOTE: A fence is always mandatory - no exceptions. Be sure to read ALL our adoption policies prior to applying for a puppy/dog.

** If you do NOT agree with our adoption policies - please feel free to apply at a rescue that you do agree with.

If qualified by our adoption policies and you would like to apply online - you must first register on the website and await an e-mailed passcode. Once you have this info, you will be able to access our application.

Our adoption donation is $200 which is (1/2) of what we've actually spent to properly vet & spay/neuter each of our dogs. Adoption donation for any dog 5 years and up is $100.

Any dog/pup adopted from us must have a fenced in property either Physical or Petstop Electric Fence.  We do not accept any other brand due to the high failure rate. The fence must be installed prior to us completing an adoption application. If you need an electric fence contact the company Petstop @ www.petstop.com

We abide by the Humane Association's recommendation. For ANY DOG adoption to have a relatively good chance of success, we believe a child should be 8 years old & up. We only adopt what we call our "BONA-FIDE Kid Lovers to families with children." Many dogs do not want to live with children. You should only adopt a dog who LOVES kids to be sure you are able to make a lifetime commitment to a dog.

We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily. This can be through a family member, neighbor, or Petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.

We have several Petsitting service companies that we can recommend:
