UPDATE: Well, as always, I have fallen in love with this beautiful old woman. I just adore our hounds! She is my best girl and she has taken on the role that she is accustomed to. She has been a Mommy all her life so now she takes care of our dear little pup Collin. He get's in the crate with her, snuggles up and she takes her paw and pulls him close.
Of course I had her spayed so now I call her Collin's "Grammy" and she loves her baby and her baby loves her!
As with all our hounds, they are sweet, gentle, docile , loving dogs. When you are ready to adopt, please consider a hound --- you won't be sorry.
UPDATE: When this matronly regal stunning Foxhound arrived from WV we realized she had to be re-named to Contessa. She is an older girl who has spent her life being beaten, over bred, and lived outside her whole life. Her elbows are all worn and sore from living in the dirt.
Contessa could not believe that she has lots of food, fresh water and a big comfortable bed and someone who thinks she is very beautiful and extremely special.
I sat down outside with her and she came up blinking afraid I was going to hit her --- but when she saw that instead I hugged her --- she just leaned into me and gave me a big hug back!
I would really love to put her in a foster home so she can get accustomed to being spoiled. If you have ever considered fostering - this would be a great "starter girl" since she is so very easy! She is low low low maintance. Rosy said she is so clean she would not soil in her kennel at the shelter even if she had to wait 12 hours!
All expenses are paid by the rescue which includes food, crates, beds, Heartworm medication
and Frontline Plus, all dogs are vaccinated and de-wormed before they go into foster care.

EXTREMELY URGENT --- Our friend Rosy at Wetzel in WV is overflowing and she is going to have to put some dogs down --- NOT that she wants to ---she HAS to make room for the endless parade of unwanted dogs.
We could get her and a few other dogs who will die without our help if you could help us. We do not have anymore room for anymore dogs BUT we could board them temporarily with our friend Bob at Landenberg Pet Resort. Bob said he would help us but of course we do need to pay him. If anyone could send donations to sponsor these dogs we could get them out alive. We accept PayPay (link on the left side of our website or we accept Discover, AMEX, MasterCard and VISA on our secure website. Petfinder also provides a sponsor link for each of our dogs.
Any help at all, no donation is too small, would save the lives of several dogs.
Contessa is one of Rosy's very favorite girls since she is so special. She certainly does not deserve to die -- none of them do but we all have to face this in rescue.
If anyone would foster or adopt her we would pay all her expenses. If you can find it in your heart to give this girl a chance -- we would be so grateful.
