It took (24) adoption applications to find the perfect person & home for Clyde. I'm so happy for him that he will finally after being with us for well over a year that he is finally "Going Home After The Holidays!"

Clyde does require a 6 foot high fence for his safety ---- there will be no exceptions. He can & does easily jump 4 foot fence ----

Clyde has been evaluated for the MYM Program & we have determined he is a: Free Spirit which is described as: Intelligent, independent, confident and clever, I prefer making my own decisions but will listen to you if you make a good case. we're partners in this adventure. Treat me like one and we'll both live happily ever after. (Internally motivated)

Clyde is an amazing 3 year old, 60 lb Golden Retriever/Lab. He's pure affection & love. He will put his paws around your neck for a hug & look into your eyes. (See his picture below giving hugs!) He's also our most intelligent boy & would make a GREAT frisbee dog! He loves all dogs & adores CATS! He get's along with everyone but time & time again I have seen him play way too rough with dogs smaller then he is. He watches TV -- truly really watches TV. He sits in front of my TV or on the sofa & watches people & not just for a few minutes but for an extended period. This isn't dog related shows -- just regular show like CSI or Justified - whatever we're watching he sits with us. He's also extremely agile. When the dogs are out back say in a group - he takes a running start and jumps over them! That is why he requires a 6 foot fence.

He was flown in from NC & is fostered near an airport. When dogs first arrive they always look up when the planes go overhead - but then that's it. They ignore planes after that -- but not Clyde. He stops what he's doing and watches the plane until it's out of sight. Then he goes back to whatever he was doing - which is always running playing chasing. I think he remembers being in a plane & maybe wants to go for another ride?

He is extremely playful with all the dogs but I feel he would do best in a home with a larger female or larger then him submissive male. He plays with dogs smaller or even equal his size but he plays too hard & doesn't seem to realize his strength compared to theirs. He also needs an extremely experienced parents. He is strong willed (he reminds me a teenage boy trying to find his way) so he needs someone who has experience in dog training. Be sure to watch Clyde's video's below.

He adores cats so he would be happy to have a his own loving parents that he can hug & a few kitties to groom. He also needs someone to adopt him who has an active life style & would love to take him out on walks daily.

Clyde is a sweet, gentle, wonderful boy. He gets along well with everyone. He has been fostered with 6 cats and he loves them all. He's very gentle with the kitties. He is very quiet and easygoing and is always happy to meet new people. He loves people and loves to give hugs. He's very, very affectionate.

We had to *introduce* him to being allowed on the sofa & our bed & it has become one of his greatest joys. We love watching dogs who lived outside & never had been pets in their lives have the glorious feeling of rolling around on a bed. So, for that reason, we will only adopt Clyde to someone who is not offended by dogs being on the sofa.

There are photos below of Clyde with his foster dad. He is very affectionate with everyone. All he wants from life is hugs and kisses....and an occasional dog treat. Clyde is simply happy to be alive.

We can't believe what a sweetheart this boy is! He rubs his face against our faces and wraps his arms around our necks because he just has to have hugs. And he has been giving kisses more often too. Very, very loving and affectionate. What a sweet, wonderful boy!

***** Clyde was flown in from from a high kill shelter in NC that still GASSES (horrible form of death) with his "wife" Bonnie and their babies. Bonnie & their pups went to Delaware Puppy Rescue. There is a video link below of them arriving on the plane.
