UPDATE: 08-24-06 - After spending a week sleeping on my bed with her fellow WV Wetzel foster brother Ozzie, my sweet little girl went home tonight. She met her parents last week and was thrilled to see them again tonight. She has a big back yard with lots of grass and a swimming pool! Mommy is going to buy Roxie her very own floatie so she can be a woman of leisure. Just remember your Aunt Marleen has not had a vacation this year or last Roxie!!
Finding GREAT homes for these dogs makes all the pressure we go through all worth it. Roxie was given new toys when she arrived, a sqeaky toy, and she just LOVED LOVED LOVED it -- right up until she shredded it. I'm sure in WV no one bothered to give her such treasures. I left knowing that she will be the treasure of her new parents for the rest of her life --- it was a GREAT DAY in rescue because two of my Wetzel shelter kids went home the same day! They came together and went home on the same day.
UPDATE: We do have an adoption pending for Prissy. She met her potential parents tonight (just need to complete a home visit) and she bestowed kisses to both. I was pleased to see that she was so happy to meet them.
I would also like to add that we could drop the Prissy from her name. At first she acted like a little lady who didn't want to play rough or get her paws dirty --- two weeks of being here and she is every bit as much of a playful hooligans as the rest of my pack! She is an angel though and lives in my home with my dogs. She is a darling little girl and we only want the best for her --- and all our dogs.
UPDATE: Rosy from Wetzel in WV named Prissy and it really is a great name for her. While she loves to play with the other dogs, she does NOT want to play rough! She is too much of a "lady" to behave like the rest of the hooligans here! When they get to rough she just goes and sits down and watches them. She does act like a "prissy" little girl who does not want to get her paws dirty!
I have also decided to change her breed mix to Golden/Lab. She is a very light golden color and her tail fans and her coat is much longer then the average lab. She is delicate, petite, and her eyes are just so pretty, well all of her is pretty.
We had her spayed (as we do with all our dogs) and up to date with all her shots.
Prissy has arrived on our transport from Wetzel County Pound in WV on 07-29-06.
She turned out to be quite petite, only 30 pounds and so very lovely. A very sweet and gentle creature. She is having fun and getting along with all her foster brother and sisters.
According to Rosy she is a perfert L&F Dog. She is going to be spayed by us August 3rd. This is her story according to Rosy:
Prissy is a very well mannered yellow lab mix? We are guessing less than 1 year old. She is a wonderful laid back kind of girl, very pleasent and willing to do as she is told! Does well with the other dogs, submissive, was dumped on a "country road."
All L&F dogs/pups are crate & potty trained, temperament tested, have been chosen for sweet, gentle dispositions, and are living in foster homes with families. They each have had the following:
Already SPAYED/NEUTERED (pups under 5 months must be prepaid)
Microchipped
Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia
On HeartGuard & Frontline Plus (as long as they are with us)
Complete series of Distemper, Parvo vaccines and Rabies.
Intra Trac ll Kennel Cough
Two De-Wormings
PLEASE NOTE: Any dog/pup adopted from us must have a fenced in property either physical or Electric Fence. The fence must be installed
before we will proceed with processing an adoption application.
If you need a fence for your dog, but are not permitted to have a physical fence, or chose not to, please visit our friends at Pet Stop. Mention that you saw them at our website and they have promised to send us a donation to help our rescue work.

We do not adopt our puppies to people who work full-time. Part-time
is OK. We do not believe in leaving infants in crates all day.
We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily, whether it is through a family member, neighbor or petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.
We have several petsitting service companies that we can recommend:

Pet Valet, services include transporting to and from
Vet or grooming, dog walking and pet sitting -
