About Diamond/ADOPTED!! | |

We are so happy to report that our sweet & gentle Diamond was not only adopted, but she was adopted with her beloved daughter Dani. Diamond is a born Mommy -- she Mommied every dog here but you could see the gentle sweet look in her face when she looked at Dani. This is what we call "an excellent day in rescue!!"
This is our dear little Diamond who arrived from NC from a shelter that still gasses their animals! She was extremely pregnant & thankfully we were able to have her flown in by the pilot Kay. (see picture below)
She gave birth to 8 healthy puppies here in DE & was & still is the best Mommy in the world. Diamond is sweet, gentle, easy going but occasionally she has a stubborn streak that requires you have to explain to her why you want her to do what you ask - and if your reason is good enough, she will comply.
Seven of her pups went to Delaware Puppy Rescue but we kept one behind since she seemed to not be as social as the other pups. I needed to be sure she had no medical issues before putting her up for adoption. As it turns out she just had a really nasty case of worms that was very hard on her. Once they were completely gone Danielle (Dani) became as normal as any other pup.
Diamond is a Mommy to all the dogs here but of course her face lights up when she see Dani first thing in the morning & Dani loves her Mommy.
We are very lucky that today 9-3-11, Diamond & her puppy Dani are going home together. Thankfully her adopted family did not want to separate them so I'm thrilled that they will spend their lives together with such a wonder Mom & Daddy.
