Well, it seems that Amelia has finally met her match. She has been adopted and she now has a sister named Ginger that just may give her a run for her money. Our Amelia is going to have more fun that she thought possible! Her new family consists of 4 2-legged members, as well, who are just thrilled to have this new baby to love. Yeah, Amelia!

This is our little Amelia. As far as we can tell, she is a tri-colored Corgi mix. We are unable to positively identify exactly what that mix is, however, we have been told that she may have some Miniature Pinscher, Chihuahua or Miniature Dachshund in her. She weighs only 9 lbs at the present time (so she is quite small) and has the short little Corgi legs and the long body of a Corgi or Dachshund. She is only expected to be about 15-18 pounds when full-grown, so we know that whatever else she has in her, it is a very tiny breed. Her tail is little more than a nub and she has rather large ears (that very rarely stand up). I have just a small amount of experience with Corgis and I can tell you that she is not nearly as large as a Corgi pup--Amelia is much more petite, with delicate features. She also doesn't have the thicker coat of many Corgis that I've seen--her coat is more sleek. I apologize for the quality of the pictures here, but it is almost impossible to get a puppy to sit still! Amelia is about a million times cuter than the pictures portray her to be! She really is just as cute as a bug's ear--one of the cutest pups in the whole wide world.

Which brings us to our dilemma. This is a smart, playful, and feisty little girl and, while your first instinct will be to spoil her rotten because she is just so cute, she is going to need a family that understands that she will have to be taught boundaries. We are looking for a home with people who understand her personality, and, while they adore a spirited young lady, they will have the experience necessary to help her to become the best little dog that she can be. Amelia, to me, has the typical Corgi temperament, and, if raised properly, she will certainly grow up to be a wonderful companion. She is an absolute ham, always looking to have the best, most fun time that she can possibly create. She has a real zest for life, but it is very easy to let a little pumpkin like this one get the best of you and, before you know it, she is the boss of the house and lets everyone know it! For this reason, we believe that she will need to be placed in a home with people who have experience with high-energy, sassy pups. We also will not place her in a home with small children (ages 10 and up, only, please) because of her size and rambunctious playfulness. She enjoys the company of other dogs and would love nothing more than to have a playmate or two!

This is a wonderful little girl that is searching for the perfect forever family. Could that be you?

Amelia will come to you cratetrained, up-to-date on her vaccines and with a spay certificate for when she is just a bit older. We are working on her housetraining, and she is doing very well. We are vigilant with her and she definitely knows that outside is the appropriate place to "potty". This is an intelligent girl who is capable of learning very quickly.
