UPDATE: 12-24-06 - We received a donation of $100 to help with Gigi's extra medical bills from Patricia Durinzi. We can not deduct that amount from her adoption donation additional costs.

Update from foster 12/11: Gigi is such a special little girl. She gets along with my two dogs ok, but loves humans so much more! Her favorite thing to do is follow me around the house and find a place to lay down and hang out. She LOVES walks and will grab the leash with her teeth and pull saying hurry up! Let's go! She wants and needs a special relationship with someone that will cherish her and shower with attention. That is why she needs to be in a home with no more than one dog or my herself. SHe has had a tough life and has racked up medical bills that amount to about $509 on top her regular vetting. We ask that in addition to her adoption fee, a donation can be made to help cover these costs. Believe me she is worth it!

UPDATE This is my newest favorite little girl. Gigi almost died on us. She had a severe case of Kennel Cough which turned into pneumonia. It has truly been touch and go here for her for over a week. She has finally recovered but I really wasn't sure she would since she was so sick.

She is only 20 pounds --- but she is 100 pounds of cuteness and love. She sleeps with me and has been a perfect little girl. As sick as she was, not one accident in the house! She is so small that she can not jump up on the sofa or bed, so she just sits there and waits for me to pick her up, which I do all the time. She is a delightful little creature and I am so glad that she came into our lives from the shelter in VA. She surely would have died without the medical care we were able to provide to save her life.

She had severe dental problems which we have also treated. Her teeth were cleaned so there will be x-tra costs involved in her adoption. She did come to us spayed.

This is our newest little pudgie girl Gigi. She is about 6 years old and by the looks of her, she has had a very, very hard life. She also came in from a horrible situation where a 92 year old man kept the dogs outside after his wife died. They had no cover and were living in inches of slimy mud. Their rescue people said it was just a pure mud pit.

We had to have dental work done for her because she was in severe pain with her teeth. Picking her up this morning so as soon as she feels better we'll get new shots of her.

We also had her groomed but she was such a mess it will take awhile to see how pretty she really is.

We will be accepting applications but NO small children for this baby girl. She needs and deserves to be someone's
baby. We need to find her someone who will want to cuddle and carry her around and show her that the world is not the terrible place she has seen in
her life.

Please Note:
We do not adopt our puppies to people who work full-time. Part-time is OK. We do not believe in leaving infants in crates all day.

We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily. This can be through a family member, neighbor, or Petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.

We have several Petsitting service companies that we can recommend:
