Joseph has been evaluated for the MYM Program & we have determined he is a: The Life of the Party!
I think everything is fun, interesting and meant for play, especially you. Anything you do, I’ll want to do too. With my own brand of surprises, life with me will keep you constantly on your toes, and the fun is guaranteed. (Socially motivated)(See his video's below)
Joseph is a 2 year, 60 lb Flat-Coated Retriever who came to us as an amputee from KY. He is extremely active, funny, loves to play tug-of-war, wrestling & toys! He's also very affectionate & loves to play with dogs.
When he was baby (see below) he was torn apart by two other dogs. They broke his pelvis & destroyed the ligaments in his legs. When he was rescued he had to have his back leg amputated. Since that is all he's ever known, he has adapted to his life. His wheelchair & all his huge medical bills have been paid in full by his sponsors.
We don't want someone to fell sorry for him, we want to find him a family who wants to see what it's like to love Joseph & his extraordinary spirit. He'll make you smile & fall deeply in love with him as we have.
He always sleeps on his back with his front paw in the air, looking at him at this very moment in his favorite position.

Good with Dogs
Special Needs: What has 3 legs -- 2 wheels -- and LOTS of love? Our Joseph! Don't let his wheelchair scare you -- he gets around perfectly. He's been an amputee since he was 2 1/2 months old so this is "normal" for him.
