Update from Cha Chi's new Mommy:
Hi Marleen,
Everything is going very well with Cha Chi. We can not image our lives without him now. Here are some picture of Cha Chi and Joey. ENJOY!

Well, after 22 adoption applications we finally found the perfect match for our baby boy! He has a new Mommy and a poodle little brother Joey to keep him company.

Here are pictures of ChaChi with his new Mom. We are so happy that he finally has his forever home!

UPDATE on Cha Chi: Our little Cha Chi has just experienced some medical problems but we have taken care of everything. It seems he had a condition called Urolithiasis, Struvite which means he had some crystals in his urine. He is on medication now and the problem is corrected.

In order to "KEEP" it corrected our vet recommends that he will have to be on prescription food for the REST OF HIS LIFE such as Hills Canine S/D. He will start on this food when he completes his oral medication and it costs approximately $36.70 for a case of 24 cans. This particular food only comes in cans.

Then our vet said just as he is about to finish the case of food, he will require another urinalysis. At that time they suspect they will switch him to another food called Hills W/D which comes in canned and dry and will average in cost approximately the same
as the S/D.

Cha Chi is only 5 1/2 months old so we want potential adopters to know this. We want everyone to know AHEAD time that this will be a "lifetime commitment" to his health with additional costs for his prescription food.

Our vet said people often switch back to regular food, and then the condition comes back -- so we feel it's best to consider that he will need this for the rest of his life.

Additionally we have spent $188 to take care of his medical problem. Since we have no grants or funding at this time, we will need to apply those costs
to his adoption donation which in his case is $225 since he came to us
neutered from the SPCA. We will of course provide invoices to show the charges.

Cha Chi is the dearest, sweetest little 5 month old poodle mix pup. He may be actually be a standard poodle since he seems to be getting taller and taller as each day goes by so he will NOT be a small poodle.

He is white with a wonderful apricot trim on his ears and on his coat. Very striking, handsome young pup.

Everyone who meets him can't believe what a gentle, loving boy he is. No ill tempered poodle here! We had him NEUTERED so there is one less thing to worry about.

What a sweet puppy he is! His foster family just LOVES him!! He absolutely loves being cuddled and loved on. Being a puppy he is high energy and LOVES to play people and other dogs.

As you can see by the pictures he loves to play with other dogs no matter the size or gender. So needless to say he gets along well with other dogs. He also loves kids. We are hoping that he is adopted into a home with other dogs since he LOVES them so much. We also would like him to have a fenced in yard, either wood or invisible.

When we first got him out of the shelter (a family member had died
so they took this infant to the SPCA) was a little clingy at first but as soon as he is more at ease that seems to lessen. The first day he was with me he was glued to my side. But now he is comfortable and able to play with other dogs and be somewhat independent. Cha Chi has a lot of love to give. Just look at that face.

We will only adopt this 5 month old puppy to people who have first hand puppy experience. We want to be sure this pup is adopted by a family that understands all his needs.

Also, we prefer that our puppies will placed in homes where someone only works part-time. Puppies need lots of love and attention and our pups will only be adopted into families who have the time to spend with them.

We also require that our puppies new homes not contain children under the age of 8. We know that children (both canine and human) can sometimes be unpredictable, and, while there is no sweeter picture than a child and a puppy, in reality, it can be quite a challenge. If your children are aged 8 and up, and you have previous puppy/dog experience, we will consider your application on a case by case basis.

All L&F dogs/pups are crate & potty trained, temperament tested, have been chosen for sweet & gentle dispositions. They live in foster homes with families, and have had the following:

Microchipping

Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia

First month supply of HeartGuard & Frontline Plus

Rabies, Distemper, Parvo vaccines.

Intra Trac ll Kennel Cough

Two De-Worming

Spay/Neuter certificate, where applicable.

No dog 6 months and up will ever leave L&F Dog Rescue without being spayed/neutered. Spay/Neuter is MANDATORY.

If you would like to fill out an application, you must first register on the website and await an e-mailed passcode. Once you have this info, you will be able to access our application.
