It took extra time and extra work but we were lucky enough to find the PERFECT
family to adopt our little Brooklyn. She and her big ears flew home to live in MD with her new parents Arlene & John.

They have been through helping an abused dog recover before and felt up to the task to give Brooklyn the same care they gave to their other dog who came from similar circumstances. We are very happy for her and very grateful to them for opening their hearts to a little girl who needs to be shown nothing but love and kindness for the rest of her life.

UPDATE from Brooklyn's foster parents:
Well, it's official. Brooklyn found her forever home today!! Her new family
is wonderful and everything I would have hoped for her. Her beautiful sisters and her headed out about 1 hour ago back to MD.

I could not have asked for a better fit. Brooklyn was actually giving kisses
within the first 45 minutes. These people were so nice and understanding
and absolutely no reservations, and Brooklyn's new house has a pool!!
They even brought a toy for Robert because they felt bad about taking
his sister! It was a very good day in rescue!

This is our newest baby Brooklyn. She was surrendered by her family because the landlord said they could not keep her. She is only 5 months old and we had her spayed. She is a pedigreed German Shepherd but there are no papers. With those ears of hers, we need to be careful of strong winds because her ears are so big that she might fly off!

She has also in her short life --- experienced physical abuse and will only be adopted into a very experienced home. She is currently afraid of
some people and most men. She will require love and patience and we will not adopt her into a home unless the family has had dogs all their lives and preferably large dogs like German Shepherds. Brooklyn is going to be a very big girl.

Update from Brooklyn's foster parents:
Brooklyn is doing better with her people meeting skills, but I am
afraid she still has some work to do. She reacts negatively more with men. There is no doubt this beautiful baby was abused by a man.

She is doing very well with her potty training and has had not one mistake. She is now starting to tell us when she wants to go out.

She gets along wonderfully with our other dogs and has a blast playing
all day. She and Robert are hole diggers so we have to watch out for
that but for the most part, they just love to hang outside weather permitting. We really feel this baby needs to have a buddy to live
with since she loves dogs so much and most definitely a fenced in yard.

Unless she is afraid of certain men, she is just happy as can be. She has
learned to respect the cats space. She is such a beautiful girl, just being
her wonderful puppy self and always looking for trouble.

She always has a warm greeting for us when we get up in the morning or when we come home from work. Mike took the time and patience and was able to win her over in no time. She gives LOTS of kisses and affection to both of us once she relaxes. If there is to be a man in her life, it will take time for her to learn to trust him, but once she does, she'll be fine.

How anyone could treat this baby so cruelly is beyond me. It has affected
this 5 month old puppy in ways we can not fathom. I know she will be
a wonderful girl to have in your life and we know she will be very protective of her family.

She has taken so well to her crate that I think she feels very safe and comfortable in there. She goes in there when the gate is open to take a nap or it seems even when she wants to have her own space. Can't blame a girl for that!
