UPDATE: Cassi went home tonight to her beautiful home in Wilmington DE. When I arrived, Bert from Petstop was there finishing installing her new safe electric fence. He took her around to the flags and she is so very smart that after hearing the beep a few times, she felt no need to go near the flags again.

Cassi was happy to see her new Mommy, Bert and then Daddy came home. He got the most kisses then anyone. She just might end up being Daddy's Little Girl. I think every girl should be Daddy's Girl.

We're very happy for Cassi and know we chose a wonderful home for her to live her little life out.

UPDATE: Cassi was adopted today. Her new parents spent quite a bit of time with both Lassie and Cassi - but Cassi is going home as soon as Petstop installs their new electric fence this week. Cassi not only get's new parents but a Grandmom who is lives near by and can't wait to take care of her new "grandbaby!" We are very happy that this pretty baby is going home.

This little lovely creature and her sister Lassie (shown separately) arrived on transport from our favorite shelter, Wetzel in WV.

They arrived 09-23-06, and have already been spayed on 09-25-06.
They will be ready to meet their adoring public 09-30-06.

This is what Rosy, the Director of Wetzel said about our two new girls:

Lassie & Cassi are beautiful young female dogs. Lassie has the look of a golden retriever, but does not look like she will get large. Definitely a mix. Eyes are light colored. She is shy of strangers but quickly makes up to you. Her sister Cassi looks like a chocolate lab with some kind of collie mix. Also very pretty and sweet.

This is their story. The man who brought them told Rosy this is what happened:

They were dumped at this man's home and were there for 3 weeks before he decided to bring them to the shelter --- As "they weren't theirs and they weren't gonna feed 'em anymore."

He had them tied at the back of his truck with ropes. Wouldn't even put them in the bed of his truck! Can you imagine how terrified they were from that?

So sad. They are great, pretty little dogs. Very shy -- but who knows what they have been through in their short lives? They look to be approximately 5-6 months old.

Please Note:
We do not adopt our puppies to people who work full-time. Part-time is OK. We do not believe in leaving infants in crates all day.

We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily. This can be through a family member, neighbor, or Petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.

We have several Petsitting service companies that we can recommend:

L&F Doggy Playdates – Your home (New Castle County Only) or at our location in New Castle, DE. Call: 302-613-0394 –more info at: www.lostandfounddogrescue.org
