UPDATE: Gilly had an interview today and she was SUCH a good girl! We're sure she has met her new Mommy. She is such a sweet, loving, gentle little girl and hopefully will get to live her life out being cherished. That is what we want for each of our "shelter kids." That's what we want for all the "shelter kids" who are sitting on death row through no fault of their own.

Come meet me July 16 at MINGLE with our MUTTS!

New Update from Gillian's Foster Mom: Gillian is a typical Lab in the best way! She is so full of energy and zest for life. She loves everybody. She just wants to play and play and give kisses. She loves other dogs and is never aggressive with them. She wants to please and will listen when corrected. She is doing very well with her potty training. When she goes outside and I am watching she finishes and comes running over to get her "good girls." She will need to learn to walk on a leash, since she tends to pull. She is smart so she will learn fast. Gillian is great with kids. She has a wonderful temperament and will make a wonderful, loving, and loyal addition to any family.

update: This petite little soul is so pretty, so sweet, so loving. She is just a perfect little one. She was shy at first but already she is coming around and you can see her joy at being a free woman! She was in the SPCA for months.

We would love to find someone who will give her the love and comfort she needs. In return, I think you will have an adoring little girl who will follow you to the end of the earth --- just to be with you!

Went to the Georgetown, DE SPCA today to pick up Ben for his new family. While there I and found this little girl (only 34 pounds) who was truly running out of time. She had been at this severely overcrowded shelter since 4-5-05 which is an eternity in a SPCA.

They held on to her because they felt she was very, very special. I agree, she is special and we are going to work very hard to find her the special family who will appreciate her. She is being spayed on 06-29-05. She will come to you up to date with all her shots & microchipped.

This is what the shelter had to say about her: Notes: Gillian is a very cute, petite black lab mix . This sweetheart was found as a stray on 4/5. She is estimated to be 9 months old. She is a very friendly dog with an infectious enthusiasm for life. She is only 34 pounds so she is very small for a Lab mix.

She is a true lover girl who wants some loving person to take her home. She loves visitors. I've gotten to know this girl over the months that she has been at the shelter and know that she is a great dog. She is loving and affectionate. She is really a very special little lady who has been at the SPCA too long. Come meet this lovebug.

All L&F dogs/pups are crate & potty trained, temperament tested, have been chosen for sweet & gentle dispositions, have lived in foster homes with families, and have had the following:

SPAYED/NEUTERED

Microchipping

Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia

On HeartGuard & Frontline Plus

Rabies, Distemper, Parvo vaccines.

Intra Trac ll Kennel Cough

Two De-Worming

No dog 6 months and up will ever leave L&F Dog Rescue without being spayed/neutered. Spay/Neuter is MANDATORY.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not place puppies in homes where no one will be home all day. Puppies, like babies, need lots of attention, socialization and cuddles. We do not feel that it is humane to leave them in a crate for 8-10 hour alone.

If you are applying for an adult dog, we do expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily, whether it is through a family member, neighbor or petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.

We have several petsitting service companies that we can recommend:

www.homesweethomepetsit.org/ in PA & DE

www.delawarepooperscoopers.com in PA, NJ, & DE

http://www.tlcpetsitting.net/ in MD

We also have a wonderful all day Doggy Day Care service:
Fuzzy Butts Doggy Day Care in Chadds Ford, PA
www.fuzzybuttsPA.com
(I have visited this facility and it is wonderful and reasonable)
