UPDATE: Our little man finally met "his" family today. He met them with kisses and hopped in their car as if he had always been there. We are always so happy when the "shelter kids" get to pick their new family. It is a beautiful thing to see! His foster family has already picked their new foster kid who is going to be Jake.

Update from SPOCK's foster parents:
Spock is doing really well. He truly is a sweet dog. He gets along very well with our other dogs and the cats. They're ignoring him and he's perfectly fine with that. He's curious about them though and will try to sniff them and they let him.

We're all getting kisses already. He's doing well inside the house with his housebreaking. He slept in my son's room last night. We heard his "voice" this morning. He's "talking" to us now.

We named this little pup Spock because of the three brothers, he is the only one with pointy ears. Scottie, Kirk & Spock are 7 month old very small, we think, sheltie mix pups who came from our favorite shelter in WV, Wetzel. They are all very small little guys, Spock is only 25 pounds so I doubt he will be more then 30 pounds full grown. He loves people, and other dogs.

He is only moderately active and is happy to play with the other dogs and then just go sit under the trees and watch birds. He is an easy little dog to take care of. You just have to remember to be extra gentle with him.

If you would like to fill out an application, you must first register on the website and await an e-mailed passcode. Once you have this info, you will be able to access our application.

All L&F dogs/pups are crate & potty trained, temperament tested, have been chosen for sweet & gentle dispositions, have lived in foster homes with families, and have had the following:

SPAYED/NEUTERED

Microchipping

Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia

On HeartGuard & Frontline Plus

Rabies, Distemper, Parvo vaccines.

Intra Trac ll Kennel Cough

Two De-Worming

No dog 6 months and up will ever leave L&F Dog Rescue without being spayed/neutered. Spay/Neuter is MANDATORY.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not place puppies in homes where no one will be home all day. Puppies, like babies, need lots of attention, socialization and cuddles. We do not feel that it is humane to leave them in a crate for 8-10 hour alone.

If you are applying for an adult dog, we do expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily, whether it is through a family member, neighbor or petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.

We have several petsitting service companies that we can recommend:

www.homesweethomepetsit.org/ in PA & DE

www.delawarepooperscoopers.com in PA, NJ, & DE

http://www.tlcpetsitting.net/ in MD

We also have a wonderful all day Doggy Day Care service:
Fuzzy Butts Doggy Day Care in Chadds Ford, PA
www.fuzzybuttsPA.com
(I have visited this facility and it is wonderful and reasonable)
