Update from Charli's new family: if only you could see charli now, she is such a goofball. he puppy side shines through now and she is just as playfull as can be. she has shown her destructive side now but thankfully it has been limited to chewbones and old plush toys of chessie's. the plushies are now at a premium for chessie, as charlie hordes them all as her own. there is definitly sibling rivalry between them, but it is a friendly one we can't thank you enough for providing such a wonderful dog for us.
UPDATE: Well, we just found Charli a wonderful home with a Mom, Dad & three brothers of the 2 legged variety and a very beautiful big sister Chessie who is also a former "shelter kid." We could not be happier for everyone involved.
Charli was, as always, on her best behavior and just wowed everyone with her pure cuteness and good manners.
She is just perfect little girl and going home on Tuesday night to start her new life far away from WV where no one cared what happened to her except Rosy and Rachel from the Wetzel Shelter.
This little beauty, only 25 pounds, came to us from our favorite shelter
Wetzel in WV. Charli doesn't really have pointed ears, that's just Rosy playing with her ears. She is such a good natured little girl! A little shy at first, confused about ending up in DE from WV --- but she is just blooming here with us.
She is only about 1 year old, very well mannered, quite friendly when she gets to know you, and under 30 lbs full grown! She has a lovely silver and black coat like a husky.
She now gets along with all of the dogs. At first she was overwhelmed with the volume of dogs/pups here (I know how she feels!) but she seems to have adapted and worked it out.

Charli is quite a find! She found her way to a gentleman's get away farm that he comes to occasionally and stayed on his porch. She was quite content to wait for him to return, even for days. Charli is an exceptional dog. She is intense when she looks at you and you can see that she truly wants to please humans! We are unsure of her history, but can definitely see her potential. She is spayed and does well indoors. Will make a great loyal member of a good family!
All L&F dogs/pups are crate & potty trained, temperament tested, have been chosen for sweet & gentle dispositions, have lived in foster homes with families, and have had the following:
Spayed.Neutered
Microchipped
Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia
On HeartGuard & Frontline Plus
Rabies, Distemper, Parvo vaccines.
Intra Trac ll Kennel Cough
Two De-Worming
No dog 6 months and up will ever leave L&F Dog Rescue without being spayed/neutered. Spay/Neuter is MANDATORY.
If you would like to fill out an application, you must first register on the website and await an e-mailed passcode. Once you have this info, you will be able to access our application.
