PLEASE NOTE: Please read our adoption policies before applying for a puppy or dog.

Baby was rescued with her pal/littermate(?), Amanda, from a shelter in Delaware where they’d been dropped off by their owner who could no longer keep them. Baby is a happy girl who lights up her surroundings with her enthusiasm and sweet smiley face. Baby is approximately one year old and weighs about 40 pounds; she is balck with tan markings, and has such soft fur. Baby is attending Williams Dog Training where she is receiving professional training; she will be housetrained, taught to walk on-leash as well as all her basic commands. Whoever adopts Baby can be assured that she’s been well trained, and you will receive three in-home, follow-up training sessions with Williams Dog Training (www.1williamsdog.com). Do you have room in your heart for this sweet girl? Baby will be at the Mingle with our Mutts event on Saturday, October 1 where she will be showing off her new training – won’t you come meet her? For more information on this event (and who we are), visit our website www.lostandfounddogrescue.org

UPDATE FROM BABY'S FOSTER MOM:
Baby went on a play date with Amanda, Nicholette and Deidre where they were all able to romp and play in a big fenced yard - what a wonderful experience for them all! Baby showed some interest in going swimming, and with a little more time I think we would have gotten her into the pool. She romped and explored then settled down calmly - what a good girl she is! She was so content to lay in the grass near our feet, and when she got her ears rubbed she just melted with the pleasure. It was a bittersweet moment to send her off with Nora from Williams Dog Training, but having met Nora and seen her interaction with the girls I know they are in good hands, and I know Baby will do well with her training.

If you would like to fill out an application, you must first register on the website and await an e-mailed passcode. Once you have this info, you will be able to access our application.

PLEASE NOTE: Any dog/pup adopted from us must have a fenced in property either physical or Invisible Fence IF there are children in the home.

We do not place puppies in homes where they will be left alone all day. Part-time is ok. Puppies, like babies, need lots of attention, socialization and cuddles. We do not feel that it is humane to leave them in a crate for 8-10 hours at a time. .

If you are applying for an adult dog, we do expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily, whether it is through a family member, neighbor or petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.

We have several petsitting service companies that we can recommend:

www.homesweethomepetsit.org/ in PA & DE

www.delawarepooperscoopers.com in PA, NJ, & DE

http://www.tlcpetsitting.net/ in MD

We also have a wonderful all day Doggy Day Care service:
Fuzzy Butts Doggy Day Care in Chadds Ford, PA
www.fuzzybuttsPA.com
(I have visited this facility and it is wonderful and reasonable)
