UPDATE! Our dear Funny Girl (Roxie) went home to live in SJ. As it happens sometimes at our "Mingle with our MUTTS" people come to see one dog and fall in love with another. Roxie fell in love with the man who came. She rolled over, gave him belly, it was love at first site for her. Thankfully, the family continued to look at other dogs but they kept coming back to our dear Roxie.

Now she has two teenager 2 legged sisters, a 4 legged brother named Toby and a new Mommy to go along with her brand new Daddy. I'm tearing up typing this I am so happy for her and for them! It was a fabulous day in rescue!

This is our newest girl Funny Girl, formerly Roxanne. She is 2 year old Basset Hound/Shepherd mix. She was an owner surrender. Her former owner worked too many hours a day to be able to give her the care and attention she deserves. She is quite a character and while she was very sad when she arrived, she missed her family and her own little girl very much, eventually she accepted her life had changed.

We had Funny Girl at a "Mingle with our MUTTS" and this is a picture from that event. Our young volunteer found that she is very complainant with being dressed up. He put the bandana on her head as you can see and he said she looks like a dog from the Sound of Music -- then he put it on her tail --- and said she was surrendering --- and all the while she was laughing, smiling and wagging her tail a thousand miles an hour. She is just thrilled when you
pay any attention to her.

She is laying next to me as I type this. This girl just LOVES people and just wants to hang out with you. She has planted herself in my bathroom which is where she naps. There are more comfortable places and lots of beds all around, but that is what she prefers.

She waddles around like a Basset hound and looks like a shepherd with it's legs cut off. She is funny looking --- but I call her Funny Girl because she is! She is quite a character and always happy now and mild mannered. She finds the smallest toy and walks around with it as if it were the most important thing in the world.

She now has girlfriends and boyfriends that she enjoys with her foster family. My husband and I fuss over her and for the little time we spend sitting on the sofa watching TV, she always joins us. All I can say is she just makes you smile with her cute face, beautiful eyes and wonderful personality.

Any dog/pup adopted from us must have a fenced in property either Physical or Electric Fence. The fence must be installed/or firm commitment prior to us processing an adoption application. Mention that you saw them at our website. http://www.petstop.com/

We abide by the Humane Association's recommendation. For ANY DOG adoption to have a relatively good chance of success, we believe a child should be 8 years old & up. We only adopt what we call our "BONA-FIDE Kid Lovers to families with children." Many dogs do not want to live with children. You should only adopt a dog who LOVES kids to be sure you are able to make a lifetime commitment to a dog.

We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily. This can be through a family member, neighbor, or Petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.

We have several Petsitting service companies that we can recommend:
