About Tanner/Adopted! | |

We're so happy to announce that Tanner has been adopted along with his real sister Sugar & they have gotten to "Go Home 4 The Holidays! Always great to help a dog get adopted but for them to get to go home together is extra sweet. They will have a great family, Mom, Dad & two - 2 legged children !! Tanner & Sugar are our #460 & #461st Adoption!

This is my very handsome Tanner who is extremely sweet & laid back kind of guy. Tanner is red with the most soulful amber eyes. His Mom Molli is a purebred black lab & Dad must have been a very large Chesapeake Retriever since he is now 115 lbs. Not saying he couldn't afford to shed a few pounds thru daily walks which he adores AND he walks beautifully on leash!
A perfect home for him would be with a family that is OK with permitting dogs on the sofa since that is his favorite place to be in his foster home. For being such a young dog, he is a perfect boy & can totally be trusted to be home alone without getting in trouble!
Of course due to his size he requires an experienced adopter who adores X-large & powerful dogs & must also have a command of basic dog training experience. He has learned several commands since we've had a professional dog trainer Dani who has come here & worked with all of the dogs. They have made great strides but of course all dogs will need to continue their training to remain "good citizens!" We can recommend our dog trainer if you are in the Delaware area & she will come to your home also if you'd like.
If you hate it when a dog tries to smothers you with kisses or is so thrilled to see you that their bodies wiggle & sway back & forth because their tail is wagging so hard – then our Tanner is not for you! Tanner is just very sweet, happy, funny & very handsome as you can see. He is also extremely submissive -- all you have to do is so "Hi Tanner" and he falls over & gives belly! The "Tan Man" has put on a few extra pounds (who hasn’t?) so he needs someone who will watch his diet & who will walk ---- or have him --- walked daily to shed some of that baby fat!
He is a major water hound. All you have to do it bring out the hose & loses his mind! Sure he would love to have a pool or at least a kiddie pool but as you can see hose does the trick for him.
