About Jasper (Jake) - ADOPTED! | |

We're just so happy to annouce that my very special boy Jake has gone home. His new Mom is a previous adopter & he just was perfect for her life style. He needs a peaceful calm setting because he does get stressed with loud noises & chaos which is the way it is around here with all the dogs in foster care. He's has his own Mom & Dad & he'll be there only child. He is our 454th adoption since LnF was founded 2-24-2004.
** Be sure to watch Jake's training video below. All our dogs are going through professional dog training & will come to you knowing basic commands & the ability to walk well on a leash**
This is our big, sweet, affectionate, submissive Jasper, I call him Jake. When you talk to him he rolls over & gives you belly! He a wonderful warm color of a Chocolate Bunny. Jake has great looks and a bright mind to boot! He's a big sporty boy tipping the scales at 100 lbs & he enjoys a lot of exercise. Gentle obedience training would make him a superstar.
I must show him in his natural habitat -- my sofa or chair. It would be imperative that he's adopted into a family where he would have full sofa, chair, and bed privileges. He puts himself on the sofa & doesn't need to run around like a nut, easy does it for Jake! He has earned full house privileges which means I can go out to the store & not have to worry about what he's doing. He is always right where I left him - on the sofa as shown in the photos.
He has always been more sensitive than his siblings so he gets frightened with a lot of noise. He’s smart enough to know that he just wants to be where it's calm so he can feel safe & comfortable. He is very gentle & calm but he will require the same from his adoptive family. He would do best in a home where the family has a mild demeanor without a lot of chaos in the home. He would not enjoy being with kids who are loud so a home with adults would be preferred.
He’s currently perfecting his on-leash manners and is mastering how to walk in a heel position. This brainy beefcake is a lot of dog so a handler must be physically strong and also fair and consistent will be best suited for Jasper.
He is improving daily with canine socialization and while Jasper still gets excited meeting new dogs—did we mention that this boy loves to play?!—but he is learning that calm greetings help him make friends more quickly.
Fun Fact: He pee-pee's like a girl -- so you won't have to worry about that pesky marking everything! Jake will require a 6 foot wood or vinyl fence.
All of our dogs have all their shots, spayed/neutered & microchipped, crate trained & housetrained & on Heartworm medication.
Be sure to read our adoption requirements to be sure you are qualified to adopt from LnF Dog Rescue Adoption Center. We can recommend pet sitting companies or doggie day care that we trust to provide professional care for pups/dogs while their parents are at work.
