Cairo needed a "rescue angel" and thankfully one came along. Thanks to our new sponsorship program, an extremely generous donor sent us enough money to pay to get Cairo out of the shelter and to have him neutered and to board him. We won't have to board him since one of our great guys Kodiac was adopted so that made room for Cairo.
Cairo came into the shelter as a stray on 8/4. He is a lover boy and will be happy to give you all the kisses and hugs you would like to give him. He is such a handsome young pup, only about 10 months with a coat that feels just like velvet. He has a very distinctive wavy hair that goes down his back but the rest of his hair is short.
He is a very special, and very affectionate guy and needs someone that is willing to give him the love that he deserves. He almost did not get out of the shelter because he is guilty of one thing --- he is black. Too many people do not want black dogs. Black dogs are unfashionable.
If you would like to fill out an application, you must first register on the website and await an e-mailed passcode. Once you have this info, you will be able to access our application.

All L&F dogs/pups are crate & potty trained, temperament tested, have been chosen for sweet & gentle dispositions, have lived in foster homes with families, and have had the following:
SPAYED/NEUTERED
Microchipping
Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia
On HeartGuard & Frontline Plus
Rabies, Distemper, Parvo vaccines.
Intra Trac ll Kennel Cough
Two De-Worming
PLEASE NOTE: We do not place puppies in homes where they will be left alone all day. Part-time is ok. Puppies, like babies, need lots of attention, socialization and cuddles. We do not feel that it is humane to leave them in a crate for 8-10 hours at a time. .
If you are applying for an adult dog, we do expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily, whether it is through a family member, neighbor or petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.
