Freckles' Weekend Update
This past weekend, we had the sheer pleasure of having Freckles stay with us. Immediately, Freckles became friends with Georgia and Jeffie (our two L&F dogs). He was truly a cuddlebug!! He played all day and later, at night, he cuddled up on our bed with his two new best friends. Freckles was excellent with going potty. He went right to the door every time he needed to go. Freckles would make an excellent playmate for any dog. Rob and I really feel that he has SUCH a sweet personality! It was very difficult to see him leave. In fact, when Rob took Freckles for surgery, he looked at Rob with those big, brown eyes like, "where are you going?". Rob said he was near tears. In addition, when Rob came back home, Georgia and Jeffie ran right past him, looking for Freckles. Whoever adopts him will be VERY lucky to have such a sweetheart. We miss him already!!

UPDATE: Had our little boy neutered and he came in at 37 pounds. That does seem to indicate he will be at least 80 pounds full grown. He is a very large boned boy. His Mommy is a Golden Retriever mix and Freckles has inherited his Mom's sweet and gentle spirit picture belowed. He is very submissive to the other pups and dogs here even though he is the largest.
If you love large dogs who are gentle giants, if you love dogs that give butterfly kisses, then Freckles is the
little guy you have been looking for. He is one of our dearest pups and we all
love him very much!
UPDATE: BONA-FIDE KID LOVER!
We had a Mingle here and several children showed up. We found that this sweetie was interested in the kids, whereas the other pups showed NO interest at all. We would place Freckles with children at least 8 years old and a family who has puppy experience.
If you are the kind of person who hates being kissed by dogs, then this is NOT the pup for you! He is such a sweet, gentle soul and just wants to curl up in your arms. His Mom is a Golden Retriever mix (shown in picture) and he has the spirit of a Golden. To me he looks like a Beagle but he is tipping the scales at almost 35 pounds so this is going to be one HUGE puppy. If you want a lover boy then Freckles is the pup for you! He looks like a beagle but I've never seen a beagle that big! He is my sweetest most loving boy. I pick him up to carry him in my arms (getting harder and harder as he grows by leaps & bounds) and he just gives me kisses all over my face.
He is full of love and personality just like like his tiny sister Haisley/Abba who has been adopted. Freckles is being neutered this month.
PLEASE NOTE: All pups/dogs adopted through L&F Dog Rescue will be provided with FREE BOARDING this summer when their families go on vacation.

House Trained & Crate Trained - paper trained if pups
Lives in foster homes with families.
Already SPAYED/NEUTERED
(pups under 5 months must be prepaid)
Microchipped
Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia
On Interceptor (Heartworm medication) & Frontline Plus (for the duration of their stay with us) - Plus they go with a one month supply of both
Complete series of Distemper, Parvo vaccines and Rabies.

If you would like to fill out an application, you must first register on the website and await an e-mailed passcode. Once you have this info, you will be able to access our application.
We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily. This can be through a family member, neighbor, or Petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.

We abide by the Humane Association's recommendation. For ANY DOG adoption to have a relatively good chance of success, we believe a child should be 8 years old & up. We only adopt what we call our "BONA-FIDE Kid Lovers to families with children." Many dogs do not want to live with children. You should only adopt a dog who LOVES kids to be sure you are able to make a lifetime commitment to a dog.
Any dog/pup adopted from us must have a fenced in property either Physical or Electric Fence. The fence must be installed before we will proceed with processing an adoption application. If you need a fence for your dog, but are not permitted to have a physical fence, or chose not to, please visit our friends at Pet Stop. Mention that you saw them at our website.
