UPDATE: Sandra’s pictures do not do her justice-this is one BEAUTIFUL dog, not just in looks but in spirit. Although still a big puppy at 11 months, she’s sweet-tempered, submissive, and relatively calm! She’s played well with all the dogs at the Mingles she’s been at and is friendly with everyone who comes to visit. When she met her new foster mom she climbed into her lap, licked her face and wiggled all over with delight. But she especially LOVES LOVES LOVES kids! Every time one comes to visit, she gets a big grin on her face and runs to pick up a ball and brings it over trying to get them to play with her.
Sandra TRULY LOVES to play with kids. We had some kids here and you could see her truly trying to engage the kids in a game of ball. She is such a delightful girl to watch with kids! We hope to adopt her into a family with kids or kids who visit often. If she is adopted into a home with kids, as with all our dogs, a fence is MANDATORY. In her case, since she can and does "sail" over gates, we must insist that she has a 6 foot privacy fence or Invisible Fence.
UPDATE It seems we have two genuine Water Hound's here! Maisey and Sandra just had a ball drinking from the hose, getting sprayed with the hose, chasing the streams of water from the hose. So very, very cute. To think these girls were both sitting in the Kent County SPCA and now they are having fun, fun, fun!
Sandra is about 11 months red head! She is up to date on all of her shots and we just had her spayed. She was taken to the SPCA because her owner became ill with Cancer and could not care for her anymore.
She loves to go for rides in the car and is a great companion. She was kept indoors and is housetrained. She is a very playful and friendly girl.

All L&F dogs/pups are crate & potty trained, temperament tested, have been chosen for sweet & gentle dispositions, have lived in foster homes with families, and have had the following:
SPAYED/NEUTERED
Microchipping
Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia
On HeartGuard & Frontline Plus
Rabies, Distemper, Parvo vaccines.
Intra Trac ll Kennel Cough
Two De-Worming
All adoptions include:
One month of free Shelter Care insurance
2 free weeks of Pooper scooper service provided by DE Pooper Scoopers
PLEASE NOTE: Any dog/pup adopted from us must have a fenced in property either physical or Invisible Fence IF there are children in the home.
We do not place puppies in homes where they will be left alone all day. Part-time is ok. Puppies, like babies, need lots of attention, socialization and cuddles. We do not feel that it is humane to leave them in a crate for 8-10 hours at a time. .
If you are applying for an adult dog, we do expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily, whether it is through a family member, neighbor or petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.
