Ellie is LnF Dog Rescue's 465th adoption! What a great day to have taken my wonderful Ellie home to her new family. Years ago they had adopted a wonderful young lady from LnF Magenta (Genny) and sadly about 1 year ago she had to leave because of cancer. It took time but they finally became ready to love again & they contacted me & fell in LOVE with my wonderful hound. It was a very good day in rescue !!

She's going to have her Mom, Dad & her very own 2 legged 13 year old brother Patrick. She is being adopted into a previous adopter's family so for me this is extra special that my families come back to me when they ready to adopt again.

Every LnF dog lives in a foster home & have been thoroughly temperament tested to guarantee a sound disposition,  loves people & is fine with other dogs. Each has been evaluated by the *ASPCA Meet Your Match Program.* Our goal is to help you adopt a dog not just by a photo -- but one that fits your lifestyle.

Ellie is: Goofball - I’m a fun-loving, happy-all-the-time, glass-is-half-full kind of dog looking for someone who loves to laugh and play around. Must have a great sense of humor and some time to spend with me. I’m a dog on a mission to please you.

**Be sure to watch Ellie training video below. She has proved to be a fast learner & just LOVES to give her paw to you!  She is highly food motivated which makes her very easy to train!**

We have a wonderful dog trainer Dianne who volunteers to teach all our dogs basic commands -- video below. Ellie as with all dogs will require an experienced pet parent to stay on top of her training.

This is our newest girl Noelle who is only about 1 year old. She came in on as a stray to a high-kill shelter in West Virginia. She was out there starving to death & was very lucky to have been picked up by animal control -- which saved her life. She has been here in foster care for weeks, but she is still extremely skinny but we're working on getting more meat on those bones! Even though she was barely alive from starving it’s amazing that she take food gently by hand.  but of course she is highly food motivated which makes her training very easy.

As you can see she is just stunning! I have her breed as Hound but to me she looks like a Beagle super-sized. We don't expect her to go above 40 lbs. when we get her weight to where it should be.

Hounds have become my all-time favorite breed & Noelle is no exception. As with every wonderful hound I've ever rescued, their ears feel like velvet (no other breed has ears as soft as theirs!) extremely sweet, docile, very generous with kisses & so very affectionate & would want nothing more than to crawl into your lap. She can be fearful of new situations & sounds & was originally afraid of her Foster Dad (I'm sure she was abused) but he has won her over. I believe she lived outside her whole life at the end of a chain. When a dog is permitted inside a home for the first time it's very confusing to them, they are afraid of all the sounds like the TV & radio, but as her Foster Mom, my favorite thing to watch how well & quickly they adjust to the luxury of being permitted to sleep on doggie beds or my sofa, to have food & water available at all times & to watch them scoot as close as they can to you to be cuddled. I LOVE being a Foster Mom!

Noelle also had to learn how to play with other dogs & with toys. You can tell she had no experience at playing but she certainly loves having foster brothers, sisters & toys and as with most hounds, she gets along with everyone. We have a tiny puppy Lily (only 6 lbs.) & Noelle has made her own little baby. She lets Lily cuddle with her when it’s time for a nap & they play together all the time. She is like most hounds, a pack dog & feel safest when they have dog buddies.

As with all LnF Rescue dogs, Noelle has been temperament tested, has had a full medical exam by our Vet, all her shots, spayed, tested for Heartworm/Lyme – negative – microchipped – housebroken & has had basic command training.

Be sure to read our adoption requirements which some say are very strict but we demand nothing less than the very best for our rescued dogs. If you can meet or exceed them you can apply online at our website www.lnfdogs.org
