Teena was our #463rd adoption. I was thrilled to take Teena home 2-27-16 to start her new life being the cherished little Beagle girl. She has her very own Beagle-Lover Mom & a life-in Grandmother! Her Mom was very lonely after having lost her beloved dog to old age but decided she was indeed ready to love again. It was a great day in rescue to make such a perfect match!

**Be sure to watch Teena’s first dog training session below. You can see she is a natural & also view her other photos**

This is our newest young, about 1 year old,  petite (24 lbs.) Strawberry Blonde Beagle who came into our rescue from a high-kill shelter in KY. You can see how pretty she is --- but be assured she is equally as sweet. She arrived on transport from an area in KY where dogs who end up in shelters --- seldom make it out alive --- especially the Hounds & Beagles. They are so common (as Black Labs are for our area) that it’s nothing short of a miracle if they make it to safety & on a transport to our area. None of their lives would be saved without the dedicated volunteer rescuers who do the best they can.

We have a wonderful dog trainer Dianne who volunteers to teach all our dogs basic commands -- video below. Teena as with all dogs will require an experienced pet parent to stay on top of her training.

LnF started rescuing Hounds & Beagles as a breed about 10 years ago when I  saved my first Foxhound. I fell head-over heels in love with their Regal look, their sweet & loving dispositons & their very docile demeanor. What you notice first about them is when you stroke their ears they always feel like “velvet!” I’ve never known any breed that has ears that feel like theirs!

Teena is shy & clearly has had some abuse -- but she still loves people! All she wants is to sit near you or preferably on your lap. Small as she that shouldn’t be too much of a problem.  You can see in her training video below how her rear-end is constantly wiggling! The term “wiggle butt” was invented for dogs like her! She gets along with all her foster sisters & brothers, & plays with our puppy.

She must have had to fight for food in her *old life* so she does growl at other dogs if they come close to her food. For that reason I would suggest that whoever adopts her should allow her to eat in her crate (as I do) or in a room by herself. She only growls at dogs -- not humans. She MAY or may NOT outgrow this behavior once she’s sure no other dog will try to take her food -- but only time will tell about that.

As with all LnF Rescue dogs, Teena has been temperament tested, has had a full medical exam by our Vet, all her shots, spayed, tested for Heartworm/Lyme – negative – microchipped – housebroken & has had basic command training.

If she sounds like the perfect little girl for your lifestyle be sure to read our adoption requirements & if you can meet or exceed them you can apply online at our website www.lnfdogs.org
