We only adopt our dogs and puppies to families who as adult's have previous personal puppy or dog raising experience. We believe that puppies - like children need to be raised -- rather then left in a crate all day. Puppies 6-12 months require (2) potty breaks daily. If you can not comply with our standards, please do not apply. We abide by the Humane Association's recommendation. For ANY DOG adoption to have a relatively good chance of success, we believe a child should be 8 years old & up. We only adopt what we call our "BONA-FIDE Kid Lovers" to families with children. Many dogs do not enjoy children. You should only adopt a dog who LOVES kids to be sure you are able to make a lifetime commitment to a dog.
UPDATE: Dazzle has become a real beauty. She is as you can see in her new picture always smiling. She is so pretty, fun loving, sweet and submissive BUT she is afraid of "some people" since she came to us abused. I know it's hard to believe that puppies could already been abused but it's true. Once she knows you are there to love her she is a loving little creature but she must be adopted into a family that has had prior experience with abused dogs and now how to gain the trust of dogs. They do come around, but they need a quiet and loving atmosphere. NO CHILDREN under 12 years old.
When she trusts you, which is easy with just getting down on the floor and inviting her over - and you talk to her she rolls over to give you her belly. She has a soft and gentle spirit and loves to play and play and play. She is housebroken and crated trained. She has already been spayed, up-to-date with shots, microchipped.
Dazzle prefers to be more direct with her love. She will come running when called, and if not will always be close by waiting. She is getting good with SIT, especially when treats are involved. She likes squeaky toys. She likes to sit under my feet when I'm on the computer. She is very loving and affectionate.
This adorable little baby is our Dazzle. We believe she is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel MIX & some other unknown breed. She is extremely sweet, very submissive, gentle & loving infant. We rescued her from our favorite shelter in WV Wetzel with her brother Razzle (shown below) but we are not adopting them together. Unlike her brother, she is very tiny, shouldn't be more then 25 pounds full grown.
We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide our adult dogs with at least (1) "potty break" daily. This can be through a family member, neighbor, or petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.
