Update from Barnaby's Mom: Oh my gosh - he is really doing great!  He already knows to ring the bells on the back door to go potty. He had his first day alone in the house with no accidents and didn't get into anything. He went to the vet yesterday with no issues. He destuffed his first toy in 7 mins. He likes to bury his bones in the bed. He is just a wonderful dog! We have the trainer and groomer coming next week. The barking has calmed down

B A R N A B Y has Gone Home!  We are thrilled to announce that even though it actually took two full years to find his family -- we originally posted him 12-31-08, he has found his finally found his family! He is went home to start his new live as their "only child" on 1-7-11 so he will also be our 1st former shelter going home in the new year!

Now he will get all the attention he wants and deserves from his Mom's. They saw him 7 months ago on our site & were drawn to him & his story but they did not have their own home or fence. They just bought their beautiful brand new home with a wonderful backyard that was just fenced in for their "new dog" and a pool -- not sure how that will go since he is a TriPod with his front leg missing so he won't be able to doggie paddle ...
What a wonderful happy tail for big boy! So happy for him & his new parents.

** Bona-Fide KID Lover of 9-10 years old and UP!! **  UPDATE
When Barnaby is not playing with all his buddies, this is his other favorite thing to do as shown below in the pictures -- nap on my sofa with his head on a sofa pillow. This dog is so cute and funny! He will bring joy into your life with his adorable ways.

I was sent a video of a baby crying and the family dog started howling along which quieted the baby. Of all the dogs that live in my home ONLY Barnaby came running in my office extremely concerned about the baby crying. He sat in front of my computer screen tilting his head from side to side - he looked really worried when the baby was crying. He has had weekend playdates with an infant and the family assured me he was so loving and gentle. This is a very, very special dog and needs a family with children that he can adore.

Foster Me! Our dear boy only has 3 legs but if you watch his video you can see it does not keep him down. I picked him up at his weekend play-date and he hopped right into the crate in the back of my van. There are many 4 legged dogs who will not do that & I have to lift them in.

He is a sweet huggy bear boy He loves kid's 9-10 years old and up.

UPDATE: Our sweet, love muffin Tripod His true favorite thing in the whole world are people. He LOVES people and he is a true companion dog. We are hopeful that there is a special family who is willing to give him all the love and devotion he deserves for the rest of his life -- and I know will return 10 fold! He is a very loving boy and get's along with all the dogs here.

I watched him with our little Kayleigh who is under 10 pounds and he just lays on the floor and allows her to jump all over him and chew on his lips and jowls. He seemed to be smiling. He loves the action.

His other very favorite thing though is to get all comfy on the sofa. We would have to insist that he is adopted into a home where he is permitted on the sofa since it makes him so happy to stretch out and take an afternoon nap.  He is young, strong and sometimes plays very hard -- yet I have seem him play/chew on the smaller ones very gently.
