UPDATE: Well, it took (22) adoption applications to find the perfect home for Eddie but he is home now. He now has new parents and 2 legged brothers and a fabulous backyard in Glen Mill PA and a huge built in pool. With his injurie from being hit by a car, I am hoping that he LOVES swimming -- it will be so good for him. If not, he will do what Eddie does best and that is just sit outside and watch the world with great interest. Once it got cold, I had to drag him back in the house -- the Husky in him just wanted to sit outside for hours! I'm happy for him that he is home but I miss very much since for over 6 months he snoozed right under my desk where I am sitting typing this. I took my shoes and just just wiggles my toes in his wonderful coat.

Fostering is not painless but I did my job and took care of Eddie until his parents showed up. Now that he and Lil' Bambi went home on the same day that makes room for us to rescue two more dogs!

Let us tell you about Eddie My Luv. He is the sweetest, most loving, gentle, mild mannered dogs we have. He has the heart & spirit of a Golden Retriever and the beauty, I mean handsome look of a Siberian Husky. He greets everyone with a smile and a paw. He is our very very best boy. It is to be noted that he has shown NO interest in children at all -- he just walks away from them.

Since he was hit by a car in SC and had many broken bones (read below) we would not want to put him in a home with another active dog for fear he might play too rough and re-injure himself.

He did not get the medical care he needed so he healed improperly. His vet bill was quite high ($1,809.26) and we have paid $649 toward that leaving a balance of $1,160. We certainly do not expect his adoptive family to pay off his bill but any donation above his adoption donation would be helpful to us. We are actively seeking sponsors to help us pay off his vet bill.

He is very laid back, he likes to go for his 1/2 hour walk daily then the rest of the day and evening is spent playing with Willow his girlfriend and snoozing on his big bed.

From the moment he arrived he placed himself on the large doggie bed under my desk and has been there ever since.

All L&F Dog Rescue dogs are crate trained but Eddie has never been in a crate nor has he had a potty accident or chewed anything he wasn't supposed to. He is a very, very special boy. He is about as perfect a dog that we have ever seen.

Everyone who meets Eddie sees why we call him Eddie My Luv -- every volunteer in L&F Dog Rescue just loves being with this wonderful dog. He is extremely low maintenance but like all dogs does require a daily long walk. That makes him happy and he dances when we reach for his leash. We can't wait to find his special family so he can begin his life. He is a true companion dog.

Thanks to Dr. Brad Gray at Brandywine Vet hospital, in Chadds Ford PA , he has had surgery and PT to repair the broken bones from being hit by a car back in 2/08 and only has a slight limp. He is just doing great and we do not foresee any long term problems.

PLEASE NOTE:
Any dog/pup adopted from us must have a fenced in property either Physical or Electric Fence. The fence must be installed/or firm commitment prior to us processing an adoption application. If you need a fence for your dog, but are not permitted to have a physical fence, or chose not to, please visit our friends at Pet Stop. Mention that you saw them at our website. http://www.petstop.com/

We abide by the Humane Association's recommendation. For ANY DOG adoption to have a relatively good chance of success, we believe a child should be 8 years old & up. We only adopt what we call our "BONA-FIDE Kid Lovers to families with children." Many dogs do not want to live with children. You should only adopt a dog who LOVES kids to be sure you are able to make a lifetime commitment to a dog.

We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily. This can be through a family member, neighbor, or Petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.
