Adoption Pending!!! Very happy that our little Lily after 23 applications has been "found" by her new family. She is going to live in VA & will have two Mom's & 3 two legged siblings. They thought she was just wonderful & it was CLEAR that she felt the same way about them -- Lily picked her Mom's & her new family -- It's a very good day in rescue !

Please note: We have a policy of not adopting puppies to anyone 60 + Small dogs like Lily has a lifespan of 15-18 YEARS so she needs to start her life off with a younger family.

We believe anyone 60+  who is truly looking to adopt a companion & to save a life should consider adopting the dogs who are overlooked and KILLED in shelters who are 4 years & up. They need to be adopted to keep from being killed  -- everyone wants puppies & young dogs.

Every LnF dog lives in a foster home & have been thoroughly temperament tested to guarantee a sound disposition,  loves people & is fine with other dogs. Each has been evaluated by the *ASPCA Meet Your Match Program* Our goal is to help you adopt a dog not just by a photo -- but one that fits your lifestyle.

Lily is:  Go-Getter - Want to get more exercise? Action is my middle name. My “Let’s GO!” lifestyle will keep you motivated to get outside and move. I’ve got tons of energy; and just like the sun, I’m burning and working 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I could chase a ball for hours, and still want to play at the end of the day.

** BEFORE applying for Lily -- please be sure to watch  all  of Lily's videos below. They show her true personality. We want to be sure her personality will match your lifestyle**

Best way to describe our puppy Lily is "feisty" meaning  she's full of animation, energy, courage, spirited, spunky,  plucky! You know how funny it is when a dog has the "zoomies?" well picture the "zoomies " most of the time as shown in the video below.

As Lily's foster mom, I want everyone to see what we "see" all the time. Lily is what I call a little "kook-a-nut" which means she is extremely active & does not settle until she wears herself out. Also, don't want you to think my kitchen is a mess -- it's just that she's so tiny (8 lbs.) those are ALL the barricades that I had to put up to keep her from tumbling down the steps!

If you adore feisty little dogs well she would be a good choice. If on the other hand you want to a little dog that you can carry around in your purse & sit calmly next to you -- than she is NOT the pup for you. She may calm down as time goes on ---- but not sure if & when that will happen!

If she's adopted into a family with other dog(s) they must be young dogs. Lily only has one dog here who will play with her all day & that's our hound Ellie. The rest of the dogs here do not like her one bit b/c she chases them & barks at them - only trying to get them to engage but mature dogs do not want to deal with a puppy like her.  For that reason will not place her with older dogs - she needs a buddy not someone who will do their best to avoid her.

Lily's new parent(s) will have to work from home or work part-time since she really is still a baby & sitting in a crate all day is not acceptable. LnF also requires our adopters must have had previous experience in raising a puppy in their adult life. She is so tiny & fragile, like a little bird, we'll only place her in a home with children 12 & up.

This little baby was owner-surrendered to our Vet's office because she was just too much work! Well, Lily is puppy & all puppies are a handful! Sadly too many people get a puppy & when they find out just how much time is involved in "raising them" paper-training, teaching how to be a good little dog citizen -- they just give up & give them away or take them to a shelter. We're glad we were able to bring her into our rescue knowing we'll be sure to get her just the perfect family for her.

We don't think she'll be more than 10-12 lbs. full-grown. She went to my Vet for a checkup & now has all her final Distemper & Rabies shot & has been microchipped & has been spayed.

Based on our years of experience -- we also feel that Senior Citizens should consider adopting more mature adult dog around 3 years & up -- not puppies! Everyone wants puppies & young dogs but the shelters are full of mature/senior dogs who have been abandoned. If you are looking for an easy going, loving companion -- please consider adopting an older dog who truly needs you to live.

If she sounds like the kind of little girl you would love to raise please read our adoption requirements & if you can meet or exceed them you can apply online at our website www.lnfdogs.org
